One of Steam's earliest hidden gem masterpieces and a game you can't say enough nice things about!

You play as Naija, the crown princess of the merfolk, and after suffering a horrible attack on your kingdom you are left adrift to die at the bottom of the ocean. Waking up with no memories of your past you set out on a journey through uncharted waters to piece together the fragments of your lost past.

The game world is huge with lots of places to go and things to do. What makes this game immediately stand apart is that it's not just another generic jumpy shooty Metroidvania. For starters you don't jump and aren't limited by the usual height setbacks. You can swim anyone on the screen you want. And secondly Naija is largely defenseless for the vast chunk of the game, relying on dodging and agility rather than just blasting everything in sight. The core gameplay largely focuses on singing and solving puzzles than combat.

There's also crafting and cooking in this game. You find an abandoned cave in the middle of nowhere that you claim as your home and you can decorate it with various trophies you find on your journeys. And there's even a kitchen!

And last but not least we come to the soundtrack. Saying that it's gorgeous doesn't do it justice. It's eerie and beautiful and there's an in-game jukebox mode where you can experience it all.

If you haven't played it yet you're missing out. This is one of the first games I ever got on Steam but it's not one I'm going to forget any time soon despite it's age.
