The pinnacle, the crown jewel, the magnum opus of the Battlefield franchise. RIP to one of the best FPS games of all time.

- incredible destruction, still not bested by any modern Battlefield game
- massive and immersive sound design
- straightforward customisation, the weapons have their own character and aren't bogged down by hundreds of attachments and skins
- brilliant, varied maps and environments
- the best Rush mode of any battlefield, IMO the game-mode that separated Battlefield from the competition
- great vehicle combat
- iconic campaign

The game wasn't perfect. You can't strafe diagonally on PC, for example, and the majority of servers were modded with massively boosted XP, but none of that mattered when your squad was fleeing from a collapsing building under artillery fire, you piloted a missile into an enemy tank from the UAV, or you were the last man alive on your team desperately arming the final MCOM with 1 ticket remaining.

I am extremely sentimental towards this game, and it isn't just nostalgia. I was only a boy when I first got BC2 for Xbox 360, and I will cherish the thousands of hours I've spent with this game throughout my life. 15 years after its release, there's something about this game that immersed you like no other. We can all be thankful that the community has kept this wonderful game alive with the community servers, so we can carry it's legacy into the future.
