There are definitely some really nice QOL improvements in this game compared to the first, but where there's one upgrade, there are two downgrades.

Upgrades:
- Being able to change styles after placing an item
- Freedom to swap door sides, for both actual doors and for fridges and such
- Updated palette for wood; everything seems nice and consistent which makes matching different pieces of furniture/cabinets so much easier
- Increased depth of customization (changing handle styles on doors/cabinets, style of sink, etc)
- The flipper vision... Being able to see missed stains/trash is a godsend
- Being able to snap things to a grid... Absolutely love it

Downgrades
- The UI... It definitely takes more clicks to go certain places than it did in the first game. Menus are also inconsistent between swapping styles of things which is a bit annoying
- Having the sell tool have multiple functions is nice, but it feels clunky going between options/using said options. Would be nice to unpack it from that one tool and spread it to multiple maybe?
- As a sub point on the sell tool, I don't like being unable to move once I try to change the style on something. I have to keep moving back and forth going in and out of the menu to see the full object I'm editing since the menu covers just under half the screen
- Cleaning/painting/laying tile is much more involved, which means experimenting with different styles takes a lifetime now
- The paint colors still aren't great... I had maybe three solid go-to modern colors in the first game, but I'm struggling to find anything that looks similarly clean in this one so far
- Art style... I think that's where my paint color issue comes from, since this game looks less realistic compared to the last
- MIrrors are still dark voids to the underworld, even though we have a player model now
- Things are still very distinctly... European, which means tiny ovens/dishwashers/fridges in what feels like a game set in the US(?). Being stuck with wall unit ACs and radiators with no option for having regular AC units or central heating is bleh
- This one is super forgivable since Frozen District is a Polish studio, but the voice acting is a bit awkwardly phrased at times
- This one is bittersweet, but there's no assembling when renovating houses now. It felt like a bit of a drag in the first game, but weirdly enough it feels odd not having it anymore?
- No holding shift + scroll to rotate things in 90 degree increments
- No curtains??? Variety in general is very low
- When making a house in sandbox mode, it sometimes doesn't save your progress even if you hit save right before quitting

Despite everything, I'm still super excited to have a new House Flipper game with the improvements we do have. I hate to say it, but overall House Flipper 2 feels like more of a horizontal move rather than a fully lateral sequel at the moment, but I haven't lost hope.
