Not yet.
This is just a very practical tech demo, nothing comparable to an ArmA game. We will have to see where this leads.
Currently you can play a very bare bone zeus mode and whatever you can come up with in the editor but content is extremely limited, way less than what the ArmA 3 Alpha had. Do not be fooled thinking this is a full game.

The review will be altered when updates arrive.

Another great DLC, there isn't much more to say so I will keep it short.

Priced at just 13€ this is one of the cheaper DLCs (On its release at least). You'll get the ability to build custom airports and design them the way you like. The game already comes with 3 Airport Styles with multiple building types each plus a cargo airport option.
The mechanics work like you would expect them to: Place taxiways towards runways, always have a way to your terminals and aircraft stands, always have a road to your terminals and you are good to go.
The only big big no no is the airport area. It forces you to even the ground, which has a sort of "inventory" system for landmass. If you have too little, you need to buy more. If you have too much, you need to sell it. The storage however is extremely small, which makes the system very unintuitive.

Battlefield Veteran since BF2 in 2007

**EDIT After Season 1 Release, original Review further down**
They definetly stepped up their game. Many of the biggest flaws and things pointed out by the community have been addressed. We have a scoreboard now, cringy voicelines are gone, vehicles and weapons got patched etc. The hitregistration has had a major overhaul and player number son some gamemodes have been changed. It is actually playable now and feels like it is in the state it should have been on release. Ive only had very few actual bugs in the 20 or so rounds ive played since the patch and I am having a blast playing it.
The new map is a step in the right direction too. I hope they continue to work on this.

I played the Beta for about 5h and the early access for about 15h up to level 20 something.
The core gameplay expierence is as far away from the classic battlefield expierience as any battlefield has been, ever. This is just a chaos shooter, getting quite close to call of duty, that has a bunch of "highlight features" such as weather, robot dogs and cringy heroes for marketing purposes. After the third match I already grew tired of the voicelines of these "specialists" as they are cringe and always the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ same.

  • Maps are too big even for 128 players
  • A proper scoreboard is missing, now its about personal stats only
  • No all player chat, only team and squad chat
  • Broken lock-on system for AA
  • No serverbrowser and thus no way to play with more than 3 friends
  • Random bullet spawns in a circle around your muzzle, making skillshots across midrange luck
  • Very limited weapon selection
  • Absence of classes and thus the core battlefield balance

I could go on but I guess you already heard it douzens of times. It is just not good as it is. You are better off playing Battlefield 4.

I started on a mildly populated server

Three of my four and a half hours of playtime have been spent in a Queue. You are literally forced to wait to be able to even try this game out. I have not even gotten around to actually play much, like I am not even past level 10 and neither have I finished the tutorial missions because of that. I would like to be able to tell you how this game actually is or performance, but I was not able to get to that.

It is a [fword-here] joke. Because of waiting times, I am past the refund time too.

A little hidden gem

It might not be the best game out there and it definetly has its flaws, mainly in the enemy AI, but it was certainly enjoyable.
It just has "it": Something that hooks you. Such a relaxing expierence.

I picked it up for under 2€ on sale and got about 4h out of it, definetly worth it.

Space Engineers is a game for mainly creative players. It gives you the tools to build Ships, Stations, Vehicles and possibly more, if you can imagine it!

Follow my curator page for more reviews: CLICK ME

Gamemodes
The core game offers to ways to play: Survival and Creative. One forces you to gather resources and even fuel, the other grants you infinite materials and even ships do not seem to use fuel to work. In Survival you also need to build your ships using welders, so a block does not spawn ready, it needs to be "worked on". For this, you can build manufacturers that do that automatically, if they are connected to your resources storage. The fun of survival is to actually plan what you are building next. A mining ship could greatly speed up the resource gathering but if you use your time for that, maybe you will get attacked by AI or players, so perhaps build defense first? Who knows... it is up to the players to decide!

Creative is probably the best way to start Space Engineers. Just play around with all options and try to build your first ship to understand the mechanics before you dive into the more advanced survival mode.

If you look around the server browsers, you will notice that there are many servers that have their own ways: There is clan wars servers where you can join player factions that are building giant connected bases and regulary raid other bases to steal resources etc. This can possibly be described as the end game of Space Engineers.

Updates and Development
I own Space Engineers since it first came out in Early Access on Steam. Since then, the game is received a lot of performance improvements and new content. Even challenging problems, such as laggy moveable objects, have been completely fixed over the years. The game works smooth now. Read more in the performance section of this Review.

The DLCs
Space Engineers does one thing absolutely right: You can not buy yourself advantages or gameplay content, that you need to pay extra for. All DLCs are very cheap and only offer cosmetics. It is interesting for anyone that actively plays the game and wants to spice up their builds a little bit. If you have DLCs but your friend does not, do not fear! You can still play together. This approach is good, compared to having gameplay hidden behind paywalls, if you already purchased a full game, in my opinion.

The Performance
Check my profile for Hardware Details. The Game was installed on a newer NVME SSD.
Despite having giant ships smashing into each other or having douzens upon douzens of fragments floating about, the game keeps its steady framerate of over 60FPS. Only when spawning massive ships in creative, the game starts to lag but even then seems to catch up after a few minutes. Keep your ships in a reasonable size if you want a high framerate, even on an absolute high end system. It has greatly improved in terms of performance since Early Access though.

Pros
  • It gives you almost infinite creative freedom when designing builds
  • It has technical features to make your builds actually work and interactable.
  • If you own the DLCs, you get a lot of cosmetics to make your builds look more interesting. Same can be achieved with the right mods
  • You can explore and settle on a variety of different planets if you so choose
  • It is designed with multiplayer/coop in mind, so anything you do can be done together with friends

Cons
  • Graphics and especially edge-smoothing leaves a lot to desire. Even on makes settings, the game looks blurry and lackluster
  • The UI and the controls are a mess and have not changed much since Early Access. It is a nightmare to understand, but quite practical once you do understand it.
  • DLCs are cheap but due to their cosmetic nature, could have been realized with a different DLC policy
  • Even the tutorial is not helpful at most times. It tells you random facts, rather than information about what you are doing right now, as it seems to have no way to detect, what the player is trying to do
  • You will need to spent a lot of time tinkering and understand or grinding if you play survival, before you actually get to build anything bigger or more interesting

Conclusion
Space Engineers certainly is one of those "not for everyone" games. It has hard to get a grasp on, but once you do, it is absurdly rewarding to just build giant ships with custom functions that move objects around your ship, open hangar doors and what not. It is just pleasing to see when it works. If you enjoy building and tinkering and if you are fimiliar with voxel based building games, this could very well be a game for you!

tl;d: Buy on Sale or wait to see what modders do with it, but right now, too little content for its price.

Follow my curator page for more reviews: CLICK ME

"Nemesis" basically adds a dedicated button to become the galaxy's bad guy. You could already do this before, but now you can do it officially and get a few toys with your galaxy wide decleration of war. There really is not much to say about becoming the crisis, besides that it is a feature backed way to win the game through galaxy wide genocide by completing a special task.

The espionage feature is probably the star of this DLC. Being able to spent resources and time to steal, sabotage and collect info on/from enemies and friendlies alike, adds a lot of flavour to the Roleplay part of this game, especially when playing with a group. The overall effects you can achieve with it are quite small though, so it will not be this major new feature for you to completely change your playstyle.

As for becoming the custodian, that is probably the most complex and feature rich addition to the game. You will have the opportunity to completely overtake the galactic community, other than by subjugation and war. Very well done.

Overall I still think this is way too little for 20€. The free update itself is pretty amazing though, so do not forget to put that into your judgement of this DLC as well, since it basically adds to the price.

Still I would advice to only buy this if you are playing a lot of stellaris anyway or otherwise just wait for a sale or what modders can build with the new features.

A nordic survival game, focused around steady progression, base building and exploration. Takes the best from similar games but adds its own flavor. Extremely polished for an early access game

My name is Miles, I review games based on a closer look on performance and visual settings. I received a review/promo copy of this game shortly after its early access launch. I will keep this as spoiler free to its content as possible.

==Introduction==
You are in a mystical land, together with a raven spirit that tells you some strangely familiar things. You need to explore lush meadows and thick trees, uncover secrets and ultimate equip yourself to fight dangerous monsters. You can build a base, learn survival skills and upgrade your gear to keep up with the ever evolving enemies you will face. Animal hunting, wood gathering, cultivating plants, slaying enemies in dungeons. There is something for everyone in this coop survival game!

Valheim is best played together with your friends, as with any coop survival game. We played this with about 8 people and decided to assign tasks to different players, so we can progress faster. Hunter-Gatherer, Carpenter, Lumberjack, Warrior and Archer, you name it. Everything you do in this game can be leveled up in due time, yes even your jumping ability! Food is important: Other than similar games, you do not eat to simply regain your health, you can actually cook food to have a larger health-pool in the first place. Shelter is not just a nice thing to do: Being sheltered and well rested allows for a few buffs such as more stamina to perform your daily tasks. Animals are dangerous: Hunting specific creatures can be a challenge, as they get stronger and actually defend themselves. A boar can be very quick and hard to hit, so do not get bitten! Your environment is not just something to look at: Being in the cold without protective gear slowly kills you. Being wet fastens this effect.

==Building==
Valheim uses a unique static system, forcing you to build somewhat realistic and smart. If you do not build support beams for a bigger roof, it will collapse. This creates a challenge even for seasoned building game players and forces you to actually plan ahead before building.
The building system itself is extremely versatile and allows for almost complete freedom, safe for the building range and static system.
The building range is determined by your distance to a crafting bench, a limit I find very strange. This forces you to keep making crafting benches whenever you want to build something a little further away. Inconvenient.

==Combat==
Describing the fighting system is a tough one. There is a few different weapon classes: Blunt Weapons/Clubs, Ranged, Sharp. Each class has special weapons that change their playstyle. For instance, there is a giant hammer in the blunt category that does AoE damage but is very slow.
You can block, attack and dodge, but when performing one action, you can not cancel the execution leading to bad responsiveness. You are starting an attack on an enemy, he starts an attack on you, he is faster, but you are forced to finish the animation first and you can not block or dodge. This does not feel good in terms of gameplay.
Regarding some bosses, you can abuse teleportation into dungeons quite extensively, as enemies can not move outside their dungeons but you can at will.
Ranged weapons are extremely powerful: I easily destroyed the first boss with just my bow without taking much damage.

==Visuals==
The game has voxel like terrain and sports a very nostalgic pixel based texturing. The lighting however, is extremely well done and highlights great in different environments (check my Valheim screenshots to see what I mean). It is a mix of very basic and old looking visuals combined with more modern and complex lighting and effects such as volumetric fog.
The UI is nothing special, as it only shows the most basic things without any flashy or outstanding designs.

==Performance==
Even on maximum settings the game runs buttery smooth on 1440p. Check my Steamprofile for my Hardware. Having a lot of enemies around can slow it down quite substantially but the biggest problem lies elsewhere: The game is very big desync issues if the server or client that hosts the game does not have enough computing power. We tested it both on a professionally hosted server as well as hosted on my client, both times animals and items starting flying around in the air when everyone is in a different region doing things. Of course you must understand that this game is still in early access. Things can only get better!

==Pros/Cons==
Pro
  • Gameplay Variety, something for everyone
  • Extremely polished and feature rich for early access
  • Steady progression to keep you invested
  • Complex building system to let your creative side out
  • Beautiful graphics
Bad
  • Multiplayer Performance needs improvements
  • Difficulty increase quite steep for casual players
  • No gameplay customization such as game rules or difficullty
  • Not much variety in dungeons
  • Combat system feels unnatural and hard to control

"Curse of the Dead Gods" is a pseudo 3D roquelike Adventure game in a dark maiyan setting that does all the right things right and adds a few interesting mechanics to the genre

My name is Miles, I review games based on a closer look on performance and visual settings. I received a review/promo copy of this game shortly before its early access launch, thus why this review is already finished. I will keep this as spoiler free to its content as possible!

Follow my curator page for more reviews: CLICK ME

==Introduction==
You find yourself trapped in an old maiyan maze of a temple complex. A lone adventurer, not knowing what he got himself into. Curiosity brought you to the curses of the old maiyan kings, which you now need to overcome to get out of this ungodly place...

Curse of the Dead Gods (CDG), throws your right into the unforgiving world of a maiyan temple, filled with undead skeletons and demons, ghosts and damned sacrificed virgins. After just a few tooltips, telling you how the basic mechanics work, you are right in the main game. No flashy intro, no tutorials, just plain brutal action from the start.

In the first 10min you already understand what type of game this will be: A quick, unforgiving action roguelike, that laughs in your face when you hit the wrong button. You have to keep track of the different enemy types and learn their movements in order to dodge their attacks correctly, otherwise you will be hit. Enemies usually do not get stunned by your attacks, so they relentlessly continue their offense on you, forcing the player to stop combos to prevent damage on himself.
This game is basically a 2D maze roguelike, that looks 3D. Do not get fooled: there is only two axi on which you can move. You will progress through generated levels, where you can at least select a certain path through them, by choosing different reward types on each exit. You collect credits that you can spend on upgrades that appear every now and then in a playthrough. Weapons and items are dropped by slain enemies or are otherwise found in dungeons. The secondary resource are crystal skulls, that you keep after a playthrough to spend on skills/modifiers.

==Visuals==
Dimly lit, a very clear and colorful maiyan Artstyle that is backed up by good old cellshading. A very comic like appearance. The developers are delivering a very confident idea of how this game is supposed to look. It feels like you are playing through a hand drawn comic, that can not really be compared to anything else. Maiyan settings are a very rare occurance in general, so this is a very fresh expierence, a change for the least.

Griddy, thick lines and heavy texts, not a single straight line of paint anywhere to be found. Everything looks scribbled, giving this game its unique feeling.
Enemies, of course, share this maiyan artstyle. The devs appear to have taken inspiration from old adventure movies from the 80s as well as what I know from Tomb Raider. These only being my own assumptions of course.

==Gameplay==
As described in the introduction, the game makes no compromise. Each mistake you make might end up in damage to the player and believe me: Healing is a not a common sight. You should always be weary of your surroundings as the dungeons are filled with traps that hardly even leave a second to respond to. If you dodge in the wrong direction, you get hit anyways. If you are out of stamina points, dodging is not possible. This is a big factor in fights, where even some attacks take stamina points and you are surrounded by different enemy types. You can't just smash some random buttons and hope to win, as you will take damage otherswise possible to prevent. Enemies are also well able to perform combos, giving you the need to dodge in certain directions or patterns.

As you progress, collect money and find better weapons, unique buffs to your character and unlock skills after each run. "Skills" that carry over each playthrough, will allow a spiced up expierence of the game in the longer term, making progression a little bit easier. What lies in the later dungeons however, will not be spoiled here, same goes for the items you find.

==Performance==
As this isn't a very computing intensive game, you can expect it to run smooth as a babies bottom if you run it even on a budget setting. After all it is not a giant 3D world with particle effects flying everywhere as other games of the genre offer. You should have no problems with this game as the system requirements already proof, unless you run ancient tech.

==Pros/Cons==
Pro
  • Well defined artstyle
  • Easy to get into and fun to play
  • Awesome visual and acoustic design
  • Many things to find and unlock
  • Exceptionally good performance due to simple design
  • Many new ideas, adding to a great genre

Bad
  • Lack of a Coop mode (Currently)
  • No Statladder for competing with friends
  • Enemies have skills that you find in many similar games, not many suprises
  • No way to safe a run if you need to restart

==Conclusion==
If you are into roquelikes, this game is a no brainer and will definetly not be a bad decision to buy.
It is perfect if you are just looking for some quick casual runs to relax but it also offers enough content, skills to train and progression to keep you invested for many hours.
Even in its Early Access state, this game already feels very finished. I have not even encountered a single issue or bug in my playtime as of publishing this review (See headline, Steam posts that info automatically).
