I recommend this game, but I do have to talk about one thing going in

If your goal is to get all the eggs (collectibles) and finish the COLOSSAL overarching puzzle, just know that there's no conceivable way to do so by yourself. Getting all the eggs is definitely doable, but will take loads of time and bashing your head against a wall to find them all, but beyond that there's no way you can do it. It was obviously designed to be a community lead effort but from a single player perspective, it was just an incredibly tedious "follow the steps of some online guide" ordeal. The depth that the overarching puzzle goes to is INSANE and commendable, but doesn't translate well to a good gaming experience.

Luckily, if your goal is to just look around the map and explore and beat the main game, the game is great for that as well.

I don't understand how someone can design such a counter-intuitive card game. I've tried countless times to get into but never really can. The enemies are annoying and frustrating over fun, bosses have silver bullets that screw over specific builds, making it unnecessarily hard for some runs vs others, and the inability to mitigate rng in your deck draws and draft often leaves you with nothing to do during runs. For every fun moment, there's 4 disappointing ones.

Forewarning, I've never played any amnesia game. However, I beat this game on Hard and got all achievements.

This game is really good, and that's coming from someone who basically never plays horror games. I wasn't expecting the resource management aspect but it was really fun to take care of it. I also enjoyed learning about the monster as I played, I enjoy that there's only 2 scripted events and that the rest is AI driven.

The game is basically a World War 1 escape room, and while short if you focus only on the main objectives and don't explore, but I enjoyed that aspect and it was fun to work it all out.

Pretty decent for the start. Balancing is definitely issue no. 1 as the game is really easy, even on hard mode, but the level design and atmosphere is still really good.

Game is very pretty and atmospheric. The combat isn't really my thing though, but apparently it's kingfield inspired so I don't think I can really count it against it. However, the loot wasn't intriguing enough to keep me playing, it all felt very samey. The leveling system with the weapons is cool on paper but it's all more of the same. Similarly with spells, they're all kinda just a generic "shoot X projectile". However the level design and art style definitely hard carry, just not enough for me to continue.

Unironically one of the best $20 I spent in a very long time. The level design is actually good and the puzzles aren't pushovers. Exploring the dungeons is quite fun because of this, only further helped by the really stylized presentation. With a game called "Fight Knight", obviously the combat is amazing and I never got tired of it at all. You play Punch Out with monsters and bosses, it's super chaotic in the good way. Game also has a decent chunk of content, I thought it would've been over way sooner but there's meat here.

Only complaint about the base game is the 4th boss is very unfun, and some enemies can have janky parry timings (mainly enemies who charge or attack in rapid succession). This game does have an NG+ system with new content but so far I'm not the biggest fan. It feels way overtuned at times, but luckily it's completely optional since it's NG+

But yeah, amazing game that's insanely underrated, 9/10.

Amid Evil is an astonishing game who's level and enemy designs steal the show. Each episode has a unique selection of enemies, while most other games have simple enemies with guns. While "enemies with guns" can and does work well, I love unique enemy designs like this. It gives each episode it's own distinct feel

When it comes to atmosphere the game has that under wraps as well. Visually, the game has it's own """pixel"""/3d style. This paired with the atmosphere and killer music provides a great experience.

My only complaints is that the bosses are pretty nothing. You can cheese just about all of them with soul mode. The Forge is also a pretty annoying episode with the exploding harpoon guys.
