I can't recommend this game in its current state.
It doesn't seem to support my xbox controller, and the keyboard/mouse controls are terrible
The mouse acts as a virtual joystick, meaning it's almost impossible to fly straight because it's hard to get your cursor exactly in the middle of the screen
It uses function and numpad keys for core systems, which I don't have on my keyboard. Like, it's my fault for having a custom keyboard maybe, but who designs a game where "scan" is on the numpad return key?
There's no menu to remap your controls

I'll check back later and see if there's controller support, or at the very least remappable keys, but as it stands, it's next to unplayable for me.

Download a crapton of mods, cut out the in-game music, put on a big playlist of your favourite albums, and start building.
This game feels like a really nice blend between self-inflicted challenge, thoughtful problem solving, and just chilling out.

Vignettes is a lovely game, hard to put into any particular category. You're exploring a world made of themes and emotions tied to otherwise disjointed objects. The almost hypnotic way a plant turns into a compass turns into a bulb turns into a cat drags you through its abstract yet tangible world.
Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to try something new and unique!

This isn't a game for everyone.
And you'll know right off the bat whether you'll like it or not.
Consider this game to be a holiday location in the video game realm, it is a place where the digital generation can unwind after a hard day's work killing zombies and setting up trade routes across the galaxy.
A pure, filtering of the basic exploration and discovery mechanic, and everything else has been stripped out.

Wait for everyone to go to bed, hole up in your room, turn out the lights and turn off the internet, put on your headphones, and explore the island that's been willed into existence just for you. The first five minutes might seem a bit odd, you'll be expecting something to attack you, or for some puzzle to bar your way to the next area, but when you understand that this is a safe and free place for you, you will understand that we live in a beautiful world, and that it is yours to explore and experience.
