This is the first From Software game that I've ever truly been able to get into (despite owning several). Every other title felt like it was just a series of hard puzzles leading to near impossible boss fights. Elden Ring is truly an open world that is fun to explore (with the occasional near impossible boss fight mixed in).

Some boss fights do feel a bit unfair but it does feel like you can improve your stats and come back later and beat each one. Or if you're really desperate, summon a co-op player to help you beat it. At almost 100 hours I feel like I've still barely scratched the surface of what there is to explore.

If you are the kind of person though who wants quest markers or clear guidance on where to go or what to do next, just be aware that this isn't that type of game. There's no quest log or journal or anything else to track what you need to do, you need to do that all on your own. I can't imagine anyone coming into this game totally blind and figuring out everything on their own, looking up guides and tips online is basically a requirement.
