I like permadeath type games. Hell, I've even done my own permadeath in MMO's because I find a nice challenge entertaining.
I also like games in this kind of art style. Reminds me of when I was young, all those decades ago. :steammocking:
Unfortunately, that's about all I liked with this game. It has promise, just not for me.

Bosses are more like bullet hell whilst also bullet sponges, which just gets boring fast.
Just like the cut scenes. Funny first time I saw a bird land, flex it muscles & all of its feathers burst from its body. Not so after a few more runs & I'm sat there thinking "Just get the ♥♥♥♥ on with it!".
Same goes for all bosses it seems :steamsad:

Also the teleport system via the map. You can only see a certain amount of the map, which means you often have to TP to one area, then to the next, then to the....& so on.

The combat is just circle strafe whilst trying to dodge bullets, but not in a good way.
Also, the main pistol doesn't seem to give anyway to increase accuracy, so if aiming from even an average distance away, good luck hitting things.

Items gained in game, only way I found to see what they do is to pick them up & root through a few tabs on Inventory page.
Even trying to find how to activate certain things I had to guess at, which doesn't help when I later found out that some are passive items, others you activate.

Alas, this just isn't entertaining for me :steamsad:

Back to Dungeon Souls for me it is, which is a much better game :steamhappy:

Got this game quite some time ago, had some fun in it, despite plenty of people afk farming their achievements. Then Stunlock turned to crapware.

Nothing new there, but then they changed things.
They added more T&S that you didn't get to see until you had bought the game & loaded it up.

Some parts of that were dodgy enough, I asked on steam, twitter & reddit. Finally got a reply on reddit:

"The EULA and the Privacy Policy are two different things and have been split up for clarity, rather than have the
Privacy Policy being a bit more hidden in the EULA. It's something we've done to follow EU rules. As for which Privacy
Policy is the current one I'm fairly certain it is the one that can be found in game. The one found on the website is
most likely, by accident, an older version. I will look into it some more."

I replied:

"I know they're two different things, that wasn't why I was asking...
Yes, once you've installed the game & ran the thing you can see it.
Nothing should be done like that, everything should be shown before purchases!"

Their reply was:

"Well, you have two hours to refund on Steam if it turns out it's something you can't agree with. But the one on the
website will of course be updated to the last one as soon everything has been sorted out."

When I pointed out that everyone that bought the game before they sneaked these things in could not refund, I never got another reply.

Then there's more. You also have to agree to Privacy Policy which you don't get access to until you've already bought & installed the game:

Some of the stuff in this is extremely dodgy, such as grabbing your IP, browser info', "Referring and exit pages,
including landing pages and pages viewed", Information about your media, device, hardware and software, such as your
hardware settings and components, updates you have installed or use, and presence of required plug ins & so on.

There is no reason at all they should be sniffing around your browsing, when it has nothing to do with the game!


Further down, they list information will be collected, but not shared. Only to later on state that information will be shared with third parties.

Logitech users rejoice!
This game has some effects set up in game to make use of our RGB keyboards.
It changes colour depending on class picked, amount of health & so on.
Sooooo nice to see a good profile readily made, something more games could do with making use of.

This is a fun manic romp with several characters to pick from.
Some seem op until you're in the thick of it when you suddenly faceplant the floor, stone cold dead.
There's crafting, there's blood, there's murder en masse & it's perma-death lite. You get to keep things that are crafted for later use.
It's also getting regular patches, which is a great thing.

Definitely recommend if you like things like Gauntlet (original), Binding of Isaac etc.

10/10, will die again.

Game runs well enough, textures are really low quality though. Everything's going well until....♥♥♥♥♥' SAKE!

Runs fine until prison roof scene, & then you're ♥♥♥♥ out of luck!
You *can* force win7 compatibility via the icon & lower all settings so that the game will not crash, but then you're also lucky to get 25-30fps (C'mon ffs, I can run DOOM at 150ish with ease!!).
♥♥♥♥ knows if it works better in later levels, because 25fps is an absolute "♥♥♥♥ this!"

Game is nearly three years old, loads having this problem, still hasn't been fixed :steamfacepalm:

Finally found a "fix".

Download RadeonMod from Guru3D site.
Install & run it.
Use Backup Registry before changing anything.
Go to UMD tab.
Scroll down & enter zero on following two settings:

CatalystAI_DEF
CatalystAI.

Click Restart Driver at bottom right.

May still get occasional crash, but MILES better than it is normally...

Remember to reset to Defaults after playing, possibly adversely affect other games you play.

How the hell did this get such high reviews!?

104 keys on the average keyboard, yet there are still games devs that can't get it into their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ console plagued skulls that putting more than one ability makes for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥ game play.

Fighting some mobs, almost had boss dead too when I had to press Space to run.
NOPE! Character decided to jump onto the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rope over my head & slide down it, dropping me off in the middle of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nowhere!

Another, running to catch some mob, game thinks I wanted to climb a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wall, FFS! STAHP THIS IDIOCY!!

Press E to do one thing, game thinks I wanted to drop from the wall I was on top of.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeah, really wanted to drop into some ruins surrounded by some pissed off mobs for no reason.....

On a more serious note though, this ♥♥♥♥♥ needs to stop!

From Software clearly haven't been near a computer.

Preliminary review:
Avoid this game, for now at least.
If you lose internet connection, you can`t play. Not even single player mode. Also once lost, you don`t see any options etc, you have to Alt F4 the game & start over. This is appalling & should of been spotted before release. They`ve found the problem, but now we have to wait for the fix which will be Soon™

There are some things missing that every game should have, the main one being:
Keybinds; you can`t change these without using external software (Thank the Vizards I use Logitech mouse software...).
It is floaty. Unlike Magicka (& Wizard Wars) it seems like you`re just floating about or on ice, you also can`t stop yourself from moving with a key, like could in the past.

Cooldowns on spells: I`ve no idea why this was added, but it`s terribad & than some. Even when you "get used" to this, there are times when the spells still refuse to work.

Settings; It starts the game/intro, before you can ever get to settings to change audio (which was on LOUD!! & gfx on a lower res then defaulte. In game, you can`t change any of these, you have to quit to main menu, alter them & start over. I assume it also means in party, all players`ll get kicked just so you can change the settings(?).

Cloud saves: I don`t use cloud on steam because it WILL ♥♥♥♥ up saves at times, but Magicka2 also uses it`s own cloud & there`s no option to turn this off.

Character: You can only name your char` once. Whilst not overly bad, what if you have kids/wife etc & they want to play on their own char`? Welp, they can`t :(

Display of Controller & keybinds, especially during the tutorial, clutters the screen. It should detect what you`re using & only display those.

Speech bubbles/UI hints are huge & can block the combat, a transparency setting here may help.

Erm...
Pro`s:

If you got the deluxe pre-order, some of the robes/weapons are reeeeeally nice, especially as you get these in Magicka Wizard Wars too.

Paradox do seem to have taken note of some of these on the forums, so hopefully it`ll get sorted....

This is one game everyone should buy.
It`s got great graphics/audio/atmosphere that all work well together.
The puzzles have the right amount of difficulty, as long as you can stop viewing the scenery & fall to your death that is ;)

Rumours of a level editor abound too, wohoo!! \o/

(potato not required (couldn`t resist ;p))

Quite a funky little game, surprisingly addictive.
Sort of a 2D Minecraft or Terraria with a story line.
Only downside, it is a tad overly easy, but with all the exploring & minor puzzling, you`ll not mind so much.

A manic button mashing, mate killing session that`ll have you screaming W A SPACE over your voip of choice.
Some spell combo`s are a tad more op in general, but for the odd scrap or two you definitely have to get used to what is hitting you & change your tactics.

This game is great fun with nothing silly like cooldowns to wipe you out whilst you`re running for your life to pass the time. All you have to do is remember the mass combinations *glanes at Magicka2* ;p

Downside, there are bugs in the game that never got fixed, despite years of reports, but again, absolutely worth grabbing. Most of the DLCs are worth grabbing too.

Prepare to kill your mates, res them, kill them again & again & again.... *evil cackles*
