Not bad.

I thought I was playing Ark: Survival Evolved as soon as I joined a server. The map is similar, the visuals are similar. Then you start on a beach and start collecting rocks and branches off the ground and it's just Ark. Just to be sure I jumped into the water and took some time swimming, I wasn't eaten by megalodons so we are all good.

The melee combat isn't exactly smooth. Sometimes the character movement feels off, like there is a weird acceleration to walking/running or something. I can't spot it on purpose but it happens sometimes and bothers me.

I spent half my playtime cutting wood though so what do I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Fast travel -> Shoot -> Loot -> Sell -> Repeat

It's an okay grind with some RPG elements sprinkled here and there.

EDIT: Apparently the faction quests are more story driven and they feel less grindy than the main quest. While I'm starting to feel more story elements during faction quests I still wouldn't recommend the game in its current state.

Spent 14 minutes slowly walking from one NPC to the other following generic MMORPG type quest (To complete X get Y from another NPC who gives you another quest first) as 'tutorial'. Might spend another 14minutes later, assuming the game saved my little progress because it didn't let me save manually.

Edit: I've played for another 3 hours and still don't know how to manually save the game. I got through the tutorial though!
Post Edit: I suppose I can recommend this now. With a note that it's only for those who can enjoy a slow pace setup for 3 minute combats.

Yeah I've played it, I will keep playing it. Why not recommend it.

02 Oct '23 Started another playthrough with my brother, 10/10.

One of those games where time flies as you either keep dying over and over again trying to understand what you are supposed to do or you've already built your dino army and going on a rampage throughout the map enjoying the smell of dino blood on your clothes.

New players should be warned with the addition of so many more dinos the game is only getting harder to get into.

PS: No one likes paid DLC on early access but you can avoid (or play with) the new stuff on some unofficial servers so i don't mind...
