The game is a bit repetitive at the start but when you get the hang of it you'll be enjoying it much more. I wish the levels were a bit more diverse in terms of assets but the layout changes drastically. The missions after completing story mode are a lot of fun. 10 hours of gameplay guaranteed, but has little to no replay value.
All in all, a fun game to pass the time. Reminds me of the flash games we used to play

A prime example of how VR game should be done. Everything you want to do in this game you just do it and it just works.

Throwing grenades feels so natural, you just fling'em and they go where you wanted.

Gun play is amazing, there are only a few weapons, but the upgrades make you feel attached to them and it isn't bothersome at all.

Enemies are though and scary, you'll find yourself running back and taking cover in every opportunity, but this only makes the game more fun and immersive. Manhacks are deadlier than ever, combines are scary, headcrabs make you jumpy.

The environment of the game is very diverse and full of life and objects for you to play with. Everything is dynamic and only a few props are static, you really feel like you're actually in there. The dark areas of the game really makes you feel fear of the dark even you're not prone to it.

The story is very good, it's not a masterpiece in terms of writing but it's still very engaging and fun. The characters are somewhat loveable and make sense (I didn't finish the game so this is my opinion so far).

Performance-wise the game is incredibly heavy and takes a beast of a machine to run it. This is not surprising when you compare it's graphics and physics to other well-known VR titles. Hopefully you can run it decently on low or medium. I got a ryzen 5 1600x and a RTX 2060, 16gb of ddr4 and an SSD, still, I'm not able to run it past medium without sttuters or low frame rate.

All in all it's a game every VR developer should regard as a model in terms of gameplay, everything is simplified and feels natural, this only increses the immersion which is THE most important aspect to consider in a VR game.

Final veredict: 9/10, everyone who hasa capable pc and a VR headset SHOULD play this game.

In a few words. GOTY! The game is extremely fun and engaging, no game has come close to the level of immersion this game has. You really feel like you're living in 2077. It's true the game has its flaws but there are somethings to consider:

1 - It has been release just recently, some bugs are to be expected
2 - It's not EA or Ubisoft, the bugs WILL get fixed
3 - They promised some free DLC and I'm hopeful for that
4 - Most of the times, the bugs are not game breaking. Visual glitches, animation errors, speech errors, but nothing that made the game unplayable or impeded me from finishing it

Would I recommend this game? YES! It is worth every penny and more

A very good dungeon management game with a lot of things to do, compelling story and an absolute addictive game play loop. Build dungeon > grow army > plunder > repeat

THE BAD:

The game is buggy as hell, even more than xcom 2. Get used to crashes and weirdness like not being able to stabilize your ally even being on range of them.

The game has no reasoning on difficulty and will gladly throw in as many enemies as to overwhelm you 2:1 or even more. At some point EVERY mission will get flagged as "VERY DIFFICULT".

The battle scars mechanic is the worst aspect, they encourage you to build synergies, then throw as many enemies at you as they can, so you can barely finish the mission just to find you'll have to leave some members to soak in for the next mission breaking your "synergy", either that or having 3 less hp, 15 less dodge, 6 less movement and so on.

The overwatch is pretty much if not totally garbage, the range is incredibly low and represents almost no benefit over straight up just shooting.

THE GOOD:

The story line is engaging and a refresher from wearing the shoes of the "commander".

Each member of the squad is specially unique and each has a different way of playing, some were very important to the mission and they didn't fire once, get used to using abilities over shooting.

This game is more lightweight than xcom 2

It seems that each mission has it's own scenery and setup I have not seen duplicate missions

Excellent sandbox game to play alone or with friends. Has a strong exploration vibe to it but you can take it easy sometimes and build your base.

EDIT: After all this time, still an excellent game to go back to with friends and explore the final update. And when that is not enough we still got mods!

Very good and fun game for single, coop or multiplayer

Wanna feel dumb and left only to luck where decisions matter almost nothing compared to RNG? This is your game! Have fun rage quiting mid game when your leadership is laid to waste by the underdog with some ridiculous and impossible dice rolls!

This game is a mockery of everything Game Design stands for, good as joke if even that and nothing more.

Worst playability I have ever seen, totally flawed combat system, plot full of holes and unapealling, bad music and sound effects. The only plus is the graphics, the style is very good. Probably the only aspect that kept me going... Wouldn't recomment to anyone!
