TL;DR: It's one of the most immersive VR games out there. The story is compelling, the gun play is hard but in a good way. Enemy variety is greater than what you'd find in most VR games today. You do feel like an explorer going into the radius, the sense of survival is strong.

THE GOOD

- I literally felt like a wimp stepping out of the first complex. Everything scared me and I didn't have two nickels to rub together
- I started gathering weapons, items, food, artifacts and then traded those to get some gear
- I did some missions and got a higher security level which allowed me to get better gear
- After this, stepping into the radius, I found myself running at enemies, like a veteran explorer, a hardy survivor
- But when I went deeper than the two first maps I realized I'm still not there in terms of being an specialist, which is good. The game has so much to do
- Nevertheless, there are MANY difficulty options, from survival to guns and economy. Everyone should be able to find a good setting to suit their playstyle
- Inventory management is a joy! Everything is snappy and you don't fumble too much with the controls
- Take care of your guns, they degrade fast, but this is a very cool gameplay loop IMO
- Speaking of which, this is how it goes: ready yourself - shoot / loot - sell / complete mission - ready yourself
- The container shack you live in is awesome, you drop all your garbage there and play HOARDER SIMULATOR VR
- You can smoke in this game (+addiction, -cancer)

THE BAD

- Getting to know the game, the areas and the enemies takes a while, expect to die often
- Right equipment and understanding them well plays a vital role in this game. PAY ATTENTION to the tutorials and even redo them if necessary
- The radius resets every so often, I found this time somewhat short and there's no way to change it
- Default price for selling guns and ammo is too low (but there's a setting for that, you can sell for 50% more than the original)
- You get heavy fast and you can't carry more than one sidearm and two "big" guns (big = anything other than a pistol)
- OpeNiNg CabInEtS HARD (being addressed in patch 2.4)
- Gun degradation is so fast for some guns (there's a setting for that)
- There is very little ammo to be found (mostly single rounds) and there are so many calibers that you rarely find the ones for your gun

I've seen people saying the game is too short. IMO, it is not. If you don't act like a speedrunner and don't look at clues every single chance you have, this game could easily entertain you for 4-5 hours, replayability is pratically 0, but the game is REALLY well made and there are a ton of mechanics, there's never the same thing twice. Also, the price tag isn't abusive. If you like VR, good gameplay, puzzles and incredible visuals, you should buy it NOW!

Gameplay is clunky, I have to do yoga to reach left weapon because it is so far away. I can't properly and quickly reach ammo, hand doesn't grab what it should and grabs what it shouldn't (especially for the kriss vector-looking one). I tried changing maps but it seems it always puts me in a pitch black map. I know this is intended to give a sense of dread but all it does is hide enemies on top of mountains and I can't aim because I can't see the iron sights in my rifle and makes the game really frustrating. The flashlight also only lights about 3m ahead, enemies can easily "hide" in the distance. Sometimes I can't aim long weapons because it collides with my face and throws off my aim, especially the shotgun. Health is also confusing, it seems you can't recover, so if you have an enemy on top of a mountain raining down fire on you and you can't aim because of collision with face, not being able to see iron sights and recoil keeps moving your weapon up, you're done. Please consider health regen when out of combat (no damage/shooting withing 15s). It seems the reason that all people are drawn towards the game is gore, but it gets old really fast

The game is merely a pc port to VR. Nothing is different apart from aiming and looking. There's no interactivity with the environment objects. You're pretty much a floating gun. To pick up objects you have to point and click a button, gun reloading is done by pressing a button and then it automatically reloads. Mods can't fix and also game is very performance hungry to the point that my rtx 2060 can't handle it. Control scheme is absolutely horrendous and non-intuitive. I thought I could fix this game with mods but even then it's a terrible experience.

One of the best zombie survival games out there.
-Graphics are good, and have been improving A LOT with each update
-Updates changed the game a lot in a very positive way
-DEV's care about the game
-It's incredibly fun and easy to dump multiple hours into
-Base building is excellent and have been improving a lot over time
-Random world generation was completely redone in the latest update
-Multiplayer is NOT laggy and works really well
-Game is well optimized
-Game is balanced and difficulty levels really change how you approach the game
-Builds are diverse and feel very different from one another

The BAD:
- Still has some bugs
- You will need mods to make the game immersive
- There are NO NPC's, you will get, at best, Encounters, which are ships floating through space that will try to destroy you, but running away is always an option
- Some mechanics are unballanced
- There's no survival mode (hunger, thirst, etc)
- Exploring is useless after you found good sources of ore
- There are no shield mechanics (without mods)
- Encounters are unbalanced, either impossible (will destroy you mothership) or way too easy (you can take it without a spaceship)

The GOOD
- Infinite universe with huge planets and procedural asteroids
- You can make anything you want, there's a great variety of blocks, both in looks and functionality
- The game is physics based, there are pistons, hinges and rotors, imagination is your limit
- Extensive scripting API for in-game logic
- Great mod support (one of the reasons this game is as big as it is)
- Good graphics, you can find some really neat landscapes on planets
- Everything is very customizable, from player and tools skins to ship look
- Very fun MP / RPMP experience

All in all, if you're a fan of the sandbox genre and spaceships, this is DEFINITELY worth the price

For a game that was an absolute flop at launch, it managed to turn a complete 180. Graphics are great and stylized, gameplay is fun, sound could use a little work but it's fine. UI is simple and intuitive, survival really feels like it, trading is a bit exploitable but not too much as to make exploration and mining useless. Devs are making very consistent and big updates, they are really working up to all we hyped about this game and more

All in all a great game to spend a few hundred hours.
Score: 8/10

One of the most immersive games I've even played!!! The lore is so DEEP and well-written. You'll feel compelled to explore more and at the same time, discouraged by the darkness and dangers that lurk bellow. To me, that's the best thing this game has got going for it. Having the fear to explore and then being rewarded for doing so is one of the most satisfying things ever!
