I am not even done with this DLC by a long shot after countless hours and currently stuck on Gleba after Vulcanus, but save to say that this DLC is insane. It has such high quality, brings so much new content and I never encountered a single bug.
Hands down the best DLC I ever bought, the devs really did an outstanding job. I will have to keep playing to see what they have put into the game as well.

This game is extremely awesome. It has been a very long time since I played a game which captured me in such a way. The fight against endless waves of enemies is so cool, the cinematic visuals are insane.

Thanks to Sony backing away from enforcing account linkeage between Steam and PSN, this review is now positive again - is what I would say if they did not straight up restrict purchase of the game in many countries.

Until Sony realizes their extremely bad decision, this review will stay negative.

My brother introduced me to this game, which was a little bit different than you would normally do it:
before I even launched the game he sent me about 20 links to Steam Workshop items which replace pretty much every character in the game (except for Coach, because Coach is Coach).

Well yeah, my first impression of this game is slaughtering a horde of Big Smokes with a Doom Axe as Stewie Griffin surrounded by Nekopara Catgirls, while throwing Cheems molotovs at Shrek, Squidward, Gamecubes and Minecraft Steves. All this while Yoshi pulls a friend to him with his tongue and Peter Griffin laughs and cries in the background.

10/10, I don't know how the game is supposed to be like but the above described fever dream is an excellent experience.

Ah, I forgot to mention that Coach always says the N-word.

First up: I bought this game short before the official release so that I could play it right when it came out, so heads up.
Warning: spoilers ahead!

Positive things:
+ as in World, this DLC brings a lot of new content with new maps, new monsters etc etc
+ Switch skill swap is pretty cool but takes some experimenting
+ The mechanic with followers is really cool, because the NPCs actually fight
+ Moon slug head
+ Feeding small owl

neutral:
o I have the feeling that Kamura points got caught up in Covid/Ukraine War inflation, because suddenly I can affort everything with this currency. This is nice for me but I think it takes the charm of grinding that a lot of other areas in this game require
o The balancing is, as the balancing of the apex monsters in rise, a bit off in my opinion. I think it should not be possible to be 1 shotted by any hit, even with maxxed out equipment and buffs. Don't get me wrong, this makes the quest just a bit more challenging but can be frustrating sometimes

negative:
- My game crashes pretty much every time I go out of the game window (running it in full screen, have not tried out other modes!), but magically recovers if I wait for a few minutes
- In addition to the last point: Playing in multiplayer causes my game to randomly crash. Single player is fine for hours at a time
Crashing is not a deal breaker for me but it is quite annoying and I hope this will somewhat be fixed with patches

Overall recommended if you enjoyed rise without any additional content with plenty more stuff to discover and grind, but a few minor things are (right now) off.

Happy hunting!

I played this after putting a LOT of hours into world/iceborne and I have a few things to go over:
+ interesting story (kinda)
+ new Switch Skills make monster riding and overall weapon usage much more interesting/fun
+ new armor effects change some things about builds (e.g. HBW)
+ the amount of RNG-based farming is a bit less than world/iceborne, e.g. decorations are now craftable
+ lots of monsters from the "basic" set, but a lot of new monsters and other classics from older titles than world/iceborne

o Rampage is a mixed bag, for *me* it is quite interesting and fun

- graphics are not as good as world/iceborne (but it is still good though)
- The game has a few issues with randomly crashing, in my case it cannot handle a wireless controller giving up due to low battery at all and just freezes for a few minutes, then resumes

Overall I am very happy with purchasing this game and so far I enjoyed playing it, I recommend playing it with somebody to make hunts more easy/fun.

This one is hard to recommend as of right now.
I played this game again after quite some time (without any DLC) and finally reached end-game (Sol 300+/>1k colonists) and it was fun, but there were quite some issues during my playthrough.
First, colonists and drones kept bugging out at food storages of my farms. The colonists were stuck in a walking animation inside the food storages, but could be fixed by building more diners. The drones were still bugged though.
Next, during my playthrough I managed to have several temporary storages (the ones when you build/remove a building) with an inventory of 0. Drones keep driving to them, picking up nothing, then do some other task, then drive back to the empty storage, ... I cannot remove these storages too, blocking the space for all other activities (buildings/landscaping tools).
Another thing is that the birth control option of my dones does not work. I set all my domes to births being forbidden, but my colonists just kept multiplying. What is the point of having this option available, when it does not work and the only real factor affecting births is the amount of homeless people (20-50 / dome!)?

Lastly, the end-game is not that interesting. You could keep sinking hours into it and just build more domes, but it is just lacking some excitement. Some way of unlocking other mysteries or other events (apart from the occasional SETI satellite) should improve the experience. Maybe the DLC content just do exactly this, but I will wait with those because they seem bugged too.
Overall, this is a nice game where I could see myself sinking a lot of hours into it, but it is (as a base game!) quite bugged and these bugs just aren't worth dealing with when trying to play the game. Quite disappointing, that only the community tries to fix bugs by creating mods.

--------------------UPDATE 2021-10-31-----------------------------

There were some patches that addressed nearly all of my complaints were addressed and everything just works now!
I really love this game, which is why I also decided to give the terraforming DLC a try. This one is a great addition to the game overall!

I played this game for a while now and I have trouble coming up with a final decision about this review. I chose "not recommended" because I have several aspects that I want to discuss.
First the good things about this game:
+ the story is in my opinion pretty decent and allows many hours of playtime (As of writing this review I went to the story once and are finishing up the side quests - many of the events on the map pending)
+ the graphics look good (given that you have a 30-Series GPU from NVIDIA or an equivalent from AMD). I don't use Ray Tracing, just because I prefer higher framerates.
+ the mechanics in this game are really cool
+ I like the setting in Night City

Now to the bad things - and these are the ones I have the most trouble with:
- performance is terrible. I get it, the game was somewhat rushed just to release it and it might get better over time. But to get an average of about 60-70 FPS with a RTX 3060 and a Ryzen 5 3600X with high graphic settings is in my eyes not accaptable.
- I collected some video clips of bugs during the main story but eventually stopped recording them because they became more and more frequent. These include things like T-posing, random spawning of vehicles and NPCs, NPCs interacting with invisible or nonexistent objects (e.g. eating a burger), Traffic lights floating in the air, vehicles just driving through walls or other vehicles and the list goes much longer
- some of the missions, especially the side missions, were buggy. One time I nearly had to reset my save file 1 hour of dialogues back just to finish a mission because an objective was bugged out, because I went through the mission in an order different from what the developers intended to. Luckily I found an autosave with which I could finally finish the darn mission.
- some of the mechanics of this game get used way too few, like the braindance. I would like to use it more often than the few times in the main story.
- for an achievement in Steam I have to do something in the main mission that is not even listed as an optional goal of the mission and is not doable after the story is completed - meaning I have to repeat the whole story again just to get this achievement
- (not really a thing about rating this game, but a short annotation:) Why is it that there are no electrical vehicles around? I mean its just not realistic that in 2077 everyone still drives a car which uses gas.

All in all I like the game and its setting, but in the current state of poor performance and the countless glitches make it impossible to really get into this game and to really like it. I hope the performance and the glitches get fixed. Maybe then a multiplayer could be also a thing I would really enjoy
