Incredibly chill city builder, even when playing for points rather than simply sandbox. The atmosphere with the islands and the music all work together to make this a very pleasant experience, especially as you can play at your own pace.

There is a lot of fun to be had in Mad Max simply through the car combat, and if you're a fan of Arkham style out-of-car combat, then you'll have a good time with this. The mechanic character you find at the start is also an endearing member of the cast, with lots of car-focused religious phrases that add a lot of character to your driving across the wasteland.

Overall, give it a shot, though maybe not if the standard open world busywork formula isn't for you.

Although I haven't been able to enjoy the full graphical quality of this game due to my own low-spec machine, I have still managed to sink over 100 hours into it, both in co-op and in singleplayer. My time with the writing and characters is very enjoyable due to the wit on display, and with the origin tags having their own dialogue options, it's a different experience each time.

My only gripe is that the custom characters don't feel as incorporated into the story as the origin characters, though this is unsurprising as I think it'd probably be hard to include a custom character that was completely intertwined with all the other hundreds of plot threads in the game.

With an excellent story, reasonably challenging matches, and a well-made progression system, this is well worth a purchase. Sadly, no online versus mode, but the singleplayer more than makes up for it.

I give it a "Best Sportsball Game" out of 10

This game is great, and despite failing at it constantly, I still felt that compulsion to get up, dust myself off, and give it another shot. And when I finally beat that one boss I've been having trouble with, it feels like I've just beaten a world record.
On the note of controls, keyboard + mouse can be fine, but I'd highly recommend installing DSFix and DSMouseFix for this. In fact, install DSFix anyway, for the optimal PC experience.

Of course, this type of gameplay isn't for everyone, so if you aren't the type of person who'll happily spend hours dying and retrying an area until you finally beat it, then don't bother with this game.

If you aren't sure, pick it up while it's on sale and give it a shot. You'll know if you like it in the first 2 hours of gameplay.

An absolutely amazing game with innovative controls and powerful storytelling despite not using words.

This is actually the first time I felt bad for buying a game when it was on sale.

This game is mediocre at best at the moment, only interesting thing is the combat, but even that it simply holding the mouse button down while strafing until either you or your enemy dies. Game lacks any kind of tutorial and you have to look at a wiki in order to know how to properly play. Doesn't help that the game is poorly optimised and runs at less than 30fps with all the settings on low.

I rate this game "Yet-Another-Early-Access-Survival-Game"/10

10/10 would waste my money on dlcs again
