I've played through MGSV, and upon first play MG:S feels very much the same. From what they've shown in the beta, and in the screen shots, it also seems to be using a lot of the same assets as MGSV. However, I can appreciate the direction they're taking it. It reall doesn't feel like a traditional Metal Gear Solid game (for obvious reasons), so it might be best to view it as its own game, but with a Metal Gear theme. The beta in and of itself is limited, but has enough content to put a few hours into it despite it only being 2 missions with different difficulties. I understand why people feel that the "zombie survival" genre is a bit oversaturated and that this is only adding to it, but it honestly feels closer to a hack n' slash with base building/survival mechanics than it does just "zombie survival". I'd also like to point out that they've released very little about the singleplayer, and only 2 missions of the cooperative multiplayer, so chances are the full game is coming with a lot more, hopefully done well and showing more variety. But, the price point scares me, as it very well may be a gimmick to provide less and thus "charge less", but the most important thing is that only time will tell. This is a beta, and an unfinished project, although it's also important to note that it's releasing soon. Hopefully the devs will take feedback from the beta and use it to better the final product, ie. eliminate the need for 2 menus to heal yourself and 3 menus to feed yourself.

If you have the time to download and play it, go for it, you have nothing to lose. I personally am not spending money on this game until I know whether or not it's what we all think it's going to be.

Found myself in Kamyshovo as a 10 year old came running in with a Mosin, rattling off shots, screaming "Im Friendly". Sprinted to some bushes, hit the deck, and unloaded into his chest with my SKS. Stripped his body of all clothing and left.

10/10 would strip again
