Good looking but still buggy at times. When that time arrives, I had to restart an annoying mission all over again from the start. Who am I to complain anyway? Got this one for free. Oh yeah, also, Arno sometimes get stuck and fall into a building. Restarting again~

Borderlands is back! With new mechanics and plenty of contents. We got wide range of weaponry and skills on our arsenal. As usual, we are able to choose one of the four vault hunters that are available. (Not sure if we will be getting additional dlc vault hunters like we got on BL2 but one can only hope). Each characters supposedly have their own background story but somehow I feel like they weren't explored enough except from the stories we see on the character trailers. Honestly, the writing aspect on this game is kind of joke but I will get into this later.

The game is okay in single player and of course, will be more fun with your friends but I do not find playing in single player hindering me from enjoying the game. Plenty new mechanics such as crouch sliding, vaulting over/mantling over an obstacle or platform is now less frustrating than before, fast travel now allows us to fast travel to a deployed vehicle, and NPC can now revive you instead of being a standby dumbass robot that watch you die in case you were downed. In addition, the skill trees also returns with more complex and interesting mechanics as well but I won't get into details for this. Overall, the gameplay mechanics are generally better than the previous installments of the franchise but nothing really groundbreaking. It's borderlands with more guns and guns.

The graphics are also way better than its predecessors while also maintaining the black outline shades that has been one of borderlands' series unique traits. We now have more setting as we are travelling to various kinds of planets instead of being stuck in Pandora. BL3 also come with lots of cutscenes (thankfully isn't as much as Kojima games) but somehow our selected vault hunter character doesn't even appear on any of them, making appearances customization is kinda pointless. Poor choice of designs, really.

The writing... is... utter trash imho. Yes, we do have characters from BL2, The pre-sequel, and tales from borderlands returning to this game but only some of them did make an appearance. The rest of the characters that doesn't appear simply just vanished without any significance or impact as if BL2 could have just ended without any of those characters. Story and missions are generic as hell, you go here -> you go there -> kill this guy -> kill that guy -> thank you vault hunter! (But it's okay, murdering the psychos and skags are fun af). What else I can say? There are lot of plot holes here and there, uninteresting villains, and of course that one NPC that really grinds my gear everytime she opens her mouth. I won't get into details here but you can check it out for yourself when you play this game. Or maybe you already know whom am I referring to if you have played this game and watched all the cutscenes. As mentioned above, the vault hunters don't even appear on any cutscenes and I think this is because how bland the characters are or devs are so lazy to put enough effort in cutscenes or even writing an interesting character but it's ok. We only play borderlands for the guns and loots. LOTS OF LOOTS.

TL;DR : Get this game for the guns, have a blast with your friend and skip all the cutscenes. Don't pay any attention to the story as it will only hurt your brain and lower your IQ.

Is an okay game that has a steep learning curve (If you are new to this kind of games). Also, has a complex combat mechanics and an okay crafting system. Apparently the PC port is inferior to the PS4 one but I can't really say it as I haven't tried it for myself. The multiplayer aspect is where it gets tricky. Indeed, you are able to play the game solo but it'll eat up your precious time, a lot. Thus, having friends to play with is an important component in enjoying the game itself. Please get yourself a friend first to play the game with then come back to buy this thing. Anywway, I wouldn't recommend getting this at full price but if you have cash to blow, sure thing.
