For a one-man team this is so so so much work put into it, it's highly impressive. I've had this on my radar for a very long time due to just how detailed the game was and how much effort was put into it (even with the small amount of content at the time) and bought it as soon as I had the money. I've enjoyed every minute spent.

It's well worth the money.

I'd definitely recommend picking this up if you like arcade games but don't ever feel like being ripped off irl.

Polygoneer is a really quick musical arcade game.

It's good for a quick 20 minute play. I'ts free from now until the next two weeks or so (June 6th - June 19th 2019) so it's definitely worth a grab, if not for anything but the achievements and + 1, with the achievements being easy to get.

The gameplay was fine, the music was fine, the concept was fine. It was just... fine. It was the most "fine" game I've played this year so far.

Although I did get this for free, which is always good, it wasn't the most fun for me. I wouldn't pay the full price for this. There isn't much replay value for this game, so I don't think I'll be coming back to this again.

I really, really, really, wanted this game to be good, so so badly

It makes me so sad to know that this game isn't nearly as good as its predecessors. I was so beyond thrilled when I found out about this game, I loved playing 2 and 3, and I thought this game would be much like the other ones. So many things have been removed, with the most egregious for me being the liberation system, it's so "hands-off" it makes you wonder if destroying things beyond what the objectives tell you even matters (it doesn't). My disappointment is compounded when I saw just how beautiful the world was (once it was patched and fixed).

I knew the game would have a rocky launch, a lot of titles do, and so I waited for everything to get fixed and patched but despite having far less bugs, not much has changed. I simply cant get back into it, no matter how hard I want to. It's not even a boring game to play, you certainly can enjoy some the sandbox aspects of it, but not the missions, or anything about the actual story.

The disappointment I've felt through this game made me lose all trust in current AAA games, and as of May 2019, this game continues to make me unhappy.

A very short and relaxing atmospheric game in which you take control over a totem who is a representation of the spirit of a man who sacrificed himself to save his daughter/wife at least that's what I thought, the game is open to interpretation. The music and sound design are great, definitely made me purchase the OST, the art style is also pretty nice and the art-book was a great addition. It controls nicely and basically just what you'd want from a good 2D platformer type game.

I honestly can't think of any cons to this game, it's a free game you definitely don't want to miss out on!

I don't even know what to say. Ending spoilers will be hidden like this

This was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ experience. I enjoyed every minute of this narrative and I was saddened to find out it was over. All of the endings are great (yes there are multiple endings) and I never felt cheated out of a single one due to the choices I've made. Like any good walking sim, another major strong-point is the music: the piano melody used all throughout this is perfect, Julie Maxwell has a very good grasp on emotional melodies that evoke feelings of loneliness and isolation, and it's no surprise the music plays a huge role in this game. There is a jump scare or two in this game, but they both fit in really well.

The Endings
The true ending, in particular, was my favourite and absolutely put some things into perspective for me, and has given me a bit to think about. I'm really impressed with how it incorporated some of the other levels, really glad I opened the game for a third and final time, really emotional for me. I was okay with the good/neutral ending (the one after the second play-through), It's a good ending to leave on if you don't know how to/don't want to get the true ending. The bad end had a very nice point of finality to it, made that much more apparent when you try to reopen the game and get booted out to find your desktop background has changed reminding you that indeed, you cannot play again after killing yourself.

I don't even want to do a pros and cons comparison, there are way too many pros in this game and I honestly can't even think of a single con. Achievements aren't that hard to get either, so if that's your thing, there's no reason not to try this out, This is a great free walking sim, you won't regret playing it.

This is a really interesting walking sim (I say that with respect, I love walking sims) in which you delve into different levels based on the dev's dream journal. The soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal, it's pretty much the best thing about this game, and I'm really thankful that I was able to download it so I can listen to it on my own time. All of this creates a really great atmosphere, that is, when you aren't being annoyed by the game's engine. I loved exploring the levels that make up this game, even listening to the developer's commentary, but I kept being taken out of it by the janky movement, the weird lighting, and how much it contrasted with how smooth it was to look around.

Pros
  • Great soundtrack (seriously, have a listen to it if you can)
  • Good level design
  • Nice visuals

Cons
  • Clunky movement
  • Weird engine

Overall, despite it flaws, it's a fun experience that I'm glad I got to enjoy. And hey, it's free, what more do you need? maybe achievements lol

AW♂YES♂SIR♂

It's a gachi themed game and for that, it's already worth the money purely for the laughs. However those laughs are short lived as this game gets stale REALLY fast.

PROS
  • Van Darkholme
  • Billy Herrington (rip in peace big boy)
  • LUBE♂IT♂UP♂

CONS
  • Very repetitive
  • Coins and fighting enemies is completely optional, you're better off just jumping over everyone

If you want to laugh for a good few minutes, then you should definitely get this. The achievements aren't that hard to get either, if you're into increasing your "perfect games" number. But really, it's basically the most basic game you can get, where half the mechanics are pointless. The only good way to actually fight the enemies without dying is to get them from ♂behind♂ otherwise you can easily be killed, but again this doesn't matter as fighting is completely optional 90% of the time. I only got this game as I got a coupon, but I wouldn't have gotten this game for full price, wait for a sale to snag this gem.
