Many people have said it already. This game wanted to be Rimworld 3D but basically stopped developing at the point where Rimworld becomes awesome. I keep finding myself waiting for the moment it gets good and it never comes.
I looked to the workshop to see if the Mods are there to round out the difference between the two games and it is utterly missing anything game mechanics based.
The more I played this game the more I wanted to play Rimworld instead and that's not something your game should do.

There's still some glitches that prevent mission completions. For example, my cooks suddenly stopped cooking. They have tons of ingredients in storage and laying around. They have tools and I've gone so far as removing all of their jobs except cooking and they still choose to idle. That is tolerable though.

The biggest problem is purpose. I don't see much purpose to this game other than 'just keep digging'. About the point that I held my first Hammerting, it just became more of the same over and over again. I know some people will enjoy this but I think there are other games out there that do this much better and all the implemented mechanics are working properly.

It felt like it could've been a nice game but there so many stupid things that adds another straw to the pile that makes you ask yourself, why do I put up with this crap just to play this game when I can play similar games without these problems?

I want to like this game but it's just to hard to do so. It's got a lot going for it; great voice acting, solid art direction, and easy mechanics. There doesn't feel like anything to do anything other than 'get more resources.' The story would be interesting but it feels like it's in the wrong genre. How do you tackle purpose and identity if you have no physical form to identify with, neither your own or others? I've been grinding it for some odd hours just pushing towards the 'make the red ball turn blue' goal but I don't think I care that much to finish.

The nicest community of players of any game I own.

This feels like a Tywin Lannister simulator. Some jerk off of a duke next to the arm pit of the Earth takes my grand daughter prisoner after winning a siege against some guy I forced a matrilineal marriage upon and I immediately turn my armies loose sacking their castles while I plot to murder or outright execute their family members. The whole time I force my dynasty upon the rest of the world by conquering what I can and rapidly out breeding anyone I can't. My character has pious virtues...but I still think I might be evil.

As a friend said "Legos for big kids"

Not for the feint of heart. This is far more accurate than any standard simulator. The fierce clashes of combatants, the violence, the battle cries, the tempest of swords and spells, the tragedy of defeat and the sadistic laughter of victory. Anyone with PTSD would be best to avoid this 'game.'

I don't know why I like this game. I'm so damn bad at it but I keep playing.

A pretty one dimensional game. Easy to learn. Think of it as a souped up Angry Birds.
