I'm locked out of the Egg Crackdown quest because of a bug where the Radears item, which you're supposed to get given then you break the first egg, didn't unlock. This bug was mentioned 10 months ago on Reddit and obviously still hasn't been fixed.

One of the best looking games I've played. Gorgeous art style and atmosphere. The climbing mechanic was well implemented. It could be a little frustrating at times, but I think that's probably the point.

It's a buggy mess. The first time I started the game, it started in a bugged state and none of the controls worked, including the Escape key, so I had to Alt+Tab out and kill the game. I read that the suggested "fix" was to delete your save file and try again, which got me into the game. Within the first 5 minutes of playing, the game froze up and I had to kill it again. The game supposedly has very infrequent save games, so when I started the third time, I had to start from scratch

UPDATE: Just tried the game for a third time and hit another bug within the first 30 minutes that meant I couldn't progress in the game. Refunding.

I've tried to get into this game, but ultimately I realised I don't care about figuring out the "mystery" of the Nomai and what happened to them, and I definitely don't care enough to spend hour upon hour visiting the same areas over and over and over again trying to find the next tiny morsel of information, just so that I can try and find another morsel of information about a group of people I don't care about so that maybe I can save another group of people I don't care about.

It all just feels like busywork. For example, I can't think of any reason for the 20 minute time limit beyond artificially making the game longer. Whatever the reason, I think it was an awful idea that makes the game less fun.

The game is more concerned with promoting sexual orientations (forced reference to a female crew member's girlfriend within the first minute) than technical competence.

When you first launch it, it tries to run at 1280x720. If your desktop resolution is anything different, the game will keep minimising itself. The "fix" is rebooting the OS, after which the game will launch, but still run like ♥♥♥♥.

I can't remember the last time I was this engrossed in a game. It's clearly a labour of love.

I've read a few negative reviews which state that the conversations on philosophy, religion, etc. aren't deep enough, and while that's a legitimate opinion, I don't think it's a failing of the game.

I think the intent was to explore religious, philosophical, and social themes within the context of the lives of normal people during the 16th century. While people's lives during that time were heavily influenced by those things (as they are now), they wouldn't have spent all day sat around discussing them in-depth (as most people don't now), which is hard to do when you can't read and spend all day toiling in the fields.

I think Pentiment does a great job of exploring deep and interesting ideas through the lens of everyday experience.

It's a good game let down by technical issues. The game feels laggy even though there are much better looking games that aren't. There have been multiple crash bugs in this game for years that haven't been fixed, and almost certainly never will be at this point. There are 55 pages of results when you search for "crash".

If you don't experience and like Soulslike games then you'll probably enjoy, but I'm not going to recommend a game that has this many glaring technical issues that the developers have chosen to ignore.
