I have played every Elite game since the first one came out in the 80's. This is a beautifully done version that I have happily sunk almost 400 hours into. Graphics are gorgeous. Gameplay is stellar (literally!). It's had it share of growing pains, but the devs keep pushing content that improves the game.

The only con is that there is only 1 ground vehicle. Would love to be able to customize, and/or improve off the base vehicle. But alas, that hasn't happened. Fly the galaxy. Get shot at. Encounter alien creatures.

I really wanted to like this game. It looked nice. Had an interesting concept. So I bought it. Played it a little, then uninstalled and never touched it again. In a word? Could have been good, but isn't.

I bought this as an early release (and on sale) and played a total of 3 hours. I'm not even sure what I was doing. I built a couple "buildings" but really it was complicated and frustrating. Very disappointed, From what it sounds like, the dev ripped us all off before selling it to someone else.

Until the devs fix the issue of "Failed to start game (unknown error)" I'm not going to recommend this game. I bought this as an early release and really enjoyed the graphics and game play. Then it started crashing, but I figured it was an early release so I'd wait. The devs just released 1.0 and now it won't even start on my computer. Someone mentioned them porting it to 64 bit and since I'm still on a 32 bit machine, I guess I'm out of luck and the $15+ that my son spent on it using a gift card. Like I said, we really enjoyed it for a bit, now it doesn't work.

Not a bad game. Can be frustrating at times, but does give you a good feel of "OMG! THERE ARE BADGUYS EVERYWHERE MUST KILL THEM ALLLLL!!! FOR THE EMPEROR!"

Ok. This game is the worst of the two Hard Truck Apocalypse games. Granted, for $1.50 (on sale) you get what you pay for.

Pros:
Trucks with guns
Truck models are nice
More customizable colors for trucks and the ability to add decals (when available).
Like the previous HT:A, you have easy to use driving/aiming using keyboard and mouse
Perks system: This is kind of a WTF. You have them, but I didn't see any way that they helped or hindered. It was never obvious.

Cons:
Voice acting: ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Weird language, lack of inflection, etc.
Story: Disjointed. Nonsensical. Your character is the most naive, trusting, moronic human being in the freaking planet. You are looking for some place called "Edmonton" for no other reason than it is there. Along the way you join forces with the obviously badguy "Sam" (who looks like Uncle sam). You also meet someone named "One-Eyed" who sounds like they are your friend, but (spoiler alert) you end up killing her because she won't give you a box of old filmstrips and she decides to attack you because you bothered to ask. So you kill her. But you seem to think that Sam is an OK guy despite threatening to kill you and wanting to find an ultimate weapon. Also, bad guys are super tough for no reason and they are ALL OVER THE PLACE. You can't even leave a town without getting blown up (seriously, it happened multiple times).
Money: In the first HT:A you could actually make money trading. It made sense. Not in this one. It's cheaper to go out and kill bad guys and sell their stuff.
Side quests: Like the first HT:A, they are essentially "go here, kill this", "guard this slow guy" (p.s. if you let the cargo truck die, you get a LOT more money fromt heir death drop), or "go here, deliver this package." After a while, I stopped doing those as there was no point.
Video issues: There were options to improve the graphics, but the game would refuse to load after I upped them from "medium" (the default). Had to go and reverify the game files before it would load with the default graphics.

If you can look past the bad voice acting, horrible story, and just random goofiness, it's an ok game. It is fun driving around blowing things up and running over pedestrians (which apparently is ok, but bumping into another vehicle will piss them off).

Of the two Hard Truck games, this is the better of the two in several ways. But in others, it isn't. I wish I could do a "meh" because for $1.50, it's not bad.

Pros:
Trucks with guns
Somewhat open world, but you still have a story line
Controls are easy to use. Driving and aiming are done with the keyboard and mouse just like all your other FPS games so nothing goofy there.
Customizeable truck bodies and lots of different weapons.
Trucks looks cool and the animation is solid

Cons:
Voice acting. Ick. Sounds translated and not always that well. Also, voice inflection doesn't match the situation. For example: Father dies and the guy says "No" like he's ordering a sandwich.
Color schemes for customizing your truck is limited to a solid color.
People animations are weird
Resolutions are limited to only a few non-wide screen options
