The heck they smoking over there?

Me and the boys ran out of things to do after 12 hours. The game feels empty and it doesn't take long to see the whole island. Probably the most frustrating part of it is that base building feels pointless - it's really not needed for survival. You can quickly pitch a tent anywhere to sleep through the night and enemies rarely feel like a threat. Loot is so plentiful (and respawns regularly) and so you have all the food, drink and tools you'll need just by revisiting points of interest.

I'm sure there will be more to do in 2 years time when they finish the game, but my interest in it is already spent.

This game is largely propped up by fanboy reviews. Don't buy the game while it's early access - you'll likely be disappointed.

Letting my friends get ahead on levels so that I can beat them on budget as I scurry behind puts a smile on my ugly face.
