Unfortunately, there isn't a way to say that privately on Steam without friending someone first.
I think part of the issue is that my wife and I playing Aragami together in co-op and believe it or not, that actually makes the game more difficult in some ways. I don't think it increases the game's difficultly itself, I think just taking into account a second person and working together with them — especially when your gaming styles might differ somewhat — can make the game more complex to play than if you were doing it single player.
That said, I appreciate the fact your comment wasn't angry or hostile. I have no problem with debate or even constructive criticism, I just won't put up with flames or abusive commentary.
i couldn't have fixed my "could not connect to network" issue without you
all in good laughs
The name "deadpool" (or some variant thereof) is pretty common nowadays.
Hell, I've had to use a different name in some games because someone else chose "DeadPoolX" before me, so I'm not surprised his friend ran across someone with the same name or something similar.
It's also quite possible there's someone on Overwatch who uses the same name as I do on here.
Whatever the case, it wasn't me who insulted your friend.
