The game won “Test of Time”.
What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke.

Unfortunately Bethesda is pretty ♥♥♥♥, and it translates into their games.
(And what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess they made of Dishonored 2. Way to ♥♥♥♥ up a good franchise Bethesda.)

I love this kind of games and was super excited for it. I expected to play it a lot so it seemed like a good investment. But... the game felt bland after a while. There's no real goals in it, no challenges. Weather never changed, night-day cycle didn't mean much. It also needed a lot more content, so I was really happy to see the devs invested into their game. But, again...

The devs went for a Sims-like model, where any cool addition come as paid dlcs. There's a bunch of cool dlcs out now, but they all cost ~£10 each. That's like £70 extra if I wanted to fully enjoy the game... Not only are they overpriced, most dlcs feel like after thought patches to me. Parks? They were really lame in vanilla. I'm glad that's 'fixed', but for a £11?.. Same with After Dark, adding some weight to the day-night cycle. Disasters adding some challenge and randomness to spice up the repetitive gameplay. Snowfall adding snow, finally, but even then there's still no seasons.

Except it's all behind a £70+ paywall, so... I really don't feel like coming back to CS, and kind of regret buying it in the first place. I'd be willing to pay a one off £30-40 for the full experience, or a yearly £15. But not this bs EA-like model.
I'm not all against dlcs etc. One of my faves is Path of Exiles, where I spent ~£50 on micros already. Except, I never had to pay to unlock content, and the devs work on and add new stuff all the time (for free, even!).

On a side note, CS has an amazing modding scene. But this is a review on the game I paid for, not it's fan made mods.
Peace.

Awesome freebie. Short, but if you're a fan of tower defences it's worth a try. Kudos to the devs!
