Very good game, can't stop playing.
Way better than repairing generators and running around in circles for 7 years.

Played during early access two times, in 2020 and 2022. I really wanna give this game a big 10/10 score.
The thing is that they really messed up at the character creation, which is a huge part in a game like this.

I mean, the classes are fine, the shaping of your character's body is troublesome.
For example, we have more "genital" options than face (preset) options for our character, since 2020 EA, we are having the same five faces for most of them races... even some races like for human women, the faces are terrible and ugly. But the real issue is, that they squeezed several "gender" options into the game, like identity (?), sex, voice, and body type. All of these have effect on the real actual gender on the character, and it is ♥♥♥♥ confusing. You have a big chance to accidentally create a character of the opposite gender you wanted. Because there are only two genders, even Karlach approved this in-game :)

In addition, the hairstyles are all clogged up into that tiny window, both feminine and masculine. You have to click on a lot of hairstyles to see them properly, because they all mixed it up without some segregation options....

If they fix these things, I will change my review.

Update: After I've almost finished the game, collected all 3 stones, completed all "side"quests. I could say...I'm heavily dissapointed. Act 3 is an unfinished hot mess. The first "fight" with the Elder Brain is a joke, regarding the animations (hardly call it animations). The Elfsong tavern "camp" has only ONE song in it, which means your ears gonna bleed after you spend hours and hours inside of it, better to avoid. And a ****load of bugs, unfinished zones. Some of my companions kept saying nonsense stuff, over and over again. Repeated cutscenes. Bugged quests and indicatcors. Unable to disable traps in such areas

However, the real pandering comes around end of Act 2, when that angel thing Nightsong declares her lesbian relationship onto Isobel (actually a good looking Selunite, I guess they had to make her lesbian because she looks attractive). After that when you wanna enter the city, the literal pride option comes up as first option, because why not. Makes sense.

-Gale keeps hitting on me with his gay romance, even if I rejected him at least 2 times before.
-In the elfsong tavern a man cheats on his woman with another man.
-The Gondians are all gay or lesbian as you progress throughot the facility during the Gortash questline (no joke, really, just hear them what they speak)
-The illithid, which is in your head, turns out to be bisexual.
-The dragon which you found under the city turns out to be also gay, because he had "more than friends" relationship with the founder of Baldur's Gate.
And the list could go on...

Swen said that you can be and do anything you want, yet this is the opposite of inclusivity, when I constantly get hit on by males, and the game reminds me every hour that "Hey, we are gay! We exists!"... no sh*t Sherlock! How wonderful, truly, that's why I play video games. To get to know random characters' sexual orientation. If I would be gay, I would feel insulted that I need so much representation just because of my bedroom preferences. The fact that you cannot be friends with your same-sex companions, is just a horrible design. You either bang them or reject them, because they keep coming at you no matter what.
It isn't hate for asking for inclusivity.

Great job Larian, truly baited everyone with the first Act. Masterful indeed.

I do recommend to skip Act 3 for now, only play the first two acts if you don't want to get dissapointed.

1. Missing classes. I'm unable to comprehend why is the western version of the game has less classes/variety overall, compared to the eastern version.

2. Second to this, since nowadays everything is considered offensive in the USA, they decided to revamp most of the female clothing and armor sets. Again, for the western version. A virtual woman in a video game with attractive clothing is not sexism, nor sexualizing. I imagine the people are offended by this are the ones who spend the entire summer seasons in a cave, since women with a least amount of clothing is offensive to them.

3. Bots, bots everywhere.

Dark Souls, but the big one.

Do not buy this people.

Great game, much better optimization than WH2, improved in every aspect.
The one thing I don't like is the lack of units, but after years of development and DLCs for WH2, this is not a surprise :)
And the starting races should not be Kislev and Chaos Undivided, those are basically the hardest of campaigns.

I just advise to ignore the negative reviews, people with crappy PC, or freshly upgraded Win11, without any drivers...
Or basicaly just review bombing as the chinese.
