This game is to Sonic Generations what Alien: Covenant is to Prometheus - a cheesy loud sequel to an already spin-off of something great. It does more right than it does wrong. Some of the boss battles are pure trash, however there's some superb 60fps eye candy here, and the voice acting cast bring their A game. The all new 'build your own sonic character' feature, while perhaps sounding weak on paper, actually turns out to be an awesome addition. The music also deserves a mention, with especially commissioned pieces performed by the London symphony orchestra! Sega certainly went all out here. If you liked Sonic Generations, there's a lot more of the same formula here to enjoy, however if you didn't play Sonic Generations, i'd start there, as this is essentially more of the same but slightly more contrived and daft, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Like everything from Team Grybanser Fox, Jet Buster is a fantastic fast-paced shmup with flat-out all-action gameplay and a beautiful retro aesthetic. However, given this time our hero is a J-Pop princess, it's the tunes here that really stand out. The music and sound design are amazing. They should put the soundtrack out separately, i'd buy it. If you're a shmup enthusiast, don't hesititate to grab this one.

My favourite crossover DLC of all time

Regardless of the bugs and endless crashes, this remains one of my favourite PC RPGs ever. There is a certain grit about this game which was absent in Fallout 4. The writing and characters are a lot more fleshed out and fun here, and the overall weight of the story adds a lot to the overall experience. Given the current climate with Bethesda and their output, it's fun to look back at a time where we'd happily anticipate the glitchy havoc one of these games would unleash.

I'll be honest, I don't know a lot about DragonballZ - but I do know a lot about graphics and fighting games. Graphically this is a continuation of the awesome work Arc System Works began with Guilty Gear Xrd - essentially using Unreal engine to produce a 2D fighting game which still kinda looks 3D and genuinely anime whilst actually running in full 3D. The result is a graphically awesome game with incredible animations. It plays a little bit like Marvel vs Capcom, 3v3 battles with tagging in and out, double teaming, etc. It's a little easier to get to grips with than other Arc games like Blazblue. Whilst I don't like the DLC policy here (the base game only comes with half the fighters), this is a great game and a standout from a 2018 full of great fighting games.

Welcome to ultimate space trucking simulator. Legendary developer David Braben takes us back to his vision of a galaxy full of trade, treachery, travesty and traps. Now - I'm sure if you wanted to play nothing but a single specific space game, and you literally wanted that specific space game to occupy about 98.9% of your actual life, and you also honestly can't wait any longer for Star Citizen to eventually actually happen - then I am under no doubt that Elite Dangerous is the game you've been looking for. A huge community are witnessing some continual exciting progression in this universe. The piloting feels cool, and it's fun to run errands around the galaxy. It's a great game, I just wish I had the time to enjoy it. Unfortunately as a regular physical being that is somewhat difficult, but I implore you potential intrepid explorers to try! Maybe you can find me something out there in the vastness of space which would allow me to transcend the barriers of being a regular physical creature so that time is no longer a factor in enjoying a game as rich and as dense as what is on offer here.

Ripid-fire shiny HD space invaders set to sick beats and ting innit bruv. What more could you want, really? A modern arcade reinvention of an stone-cold classic. Drop a couple of disco biscuits for maximum atmosphere enhancement.

Whilst initially a promising and original multiplayer experience, PUBG unfortunately hasn't been able to keep up with the competition it spawned. Coupled with the fact that sadly it just isn't a very tightly produced project, it's difficult to recommend. Yes the game has improved drastically since it's initial early access release. Yes it has a huge, active player base. It also has a gritty sense of realism that very few of these titles manage to create. In terms of fun however, there's far more to be found in Call of Duty's 'Blackout' or Apex: Legends.

The true Sonic sequel we've all been praying for since the Mega Drive days. They finally did it, an actual Sonic game which plays and is presented exactly how you'd expect it. Difficult in places but never painful, if you enjoyed the classic 2D Sonics, this is a must-play.

Finally Tekken on PC! Awesome UE4 graphics, tight controls, fantastic soundtrack and great online multiplayer with an active scene. All the DLC and season 2 really freshened the whole experience up, and it's great how they're still developing the game 4 years since it began in arcades. Simply one of the finest fighting games ever made.
