Simply fantastic. Hasn't lost its online play on its transition to Steam like so many other fighters have, and thats great news as the online play here is exceptional. This game is also (in my experience at least) a lot less technical in its gameplay than others available on Steam, and therefore isn't too scary a prospect for casual players. However it still possesses enough technicality to keep hardened veterans happy, and once mastered will provide hours of beatdown joy. I am a longtime fan of the series so I may be a little bias towards KoF, but if you've not played it and you enjoy 2D fighters, by all means give it a blast!

Looks and plays like a b*stard child of Atari Teenage Riot and a broken Sega Megadrive on LSD. 10/10

Played once and had to review immiediately. The £4 asking price here is worth it for the music alone! A fierce combination of Guilty Gear-esq metal guitar work with ultra-fast breakbeats and electronic melodies. Luckily the game is just as fantastic as the audio; super fast and ultra smooth shmup action, challenging but without the insane difficulty of some other recent shmup titles. If you have played on a smart phone don't hesitate to get it on Steam, playing full screen transforms the experience. 10/10

I'm never usually one to moan about console 'ports' (not that real 'ports' exist anymore of course), but this is utterly dire. Doesn't show track times of anyone in my friends list for whatever reason, when I know 6 other people on steam who play the game. Framerates are aweful, leading to very choppy gameplay. I could only fix this by playing in 800 x 600, but even then the experience was nowhere near as fluid as it should have been. If you have an Xbox 360, shell out the extra couple of quid and get it for that, its an ultimately more rewarding and fun experience. The game itself is fantastic and it seems a shame I have to be so negative about it, but I really am totally unimpressed with this title.

Hands-down the best sword slicing action I have ever played in an FPS. The melee combat just feels so right here. The writing is also spot on, with excellent, consistantly witty dialogue throughout. Jaw-dropping visuals and very convincing weather will put your GPU to the test. The old skool key finding progression keeps things true to the source material, and oddly doesn't get frustrating. I definately prefered playing this with a keyboard & mouse, but thats not to discredit the controller as it is totally playable with both. There are some multi-button commands you have to perform very quickly which leant itself to the keyboard, but these were achievable on the controller, albeit slightly more difficult.

Don't be put off by the fact this is strictly a one player experience; it is a very long game which constantly switches things up and keeps things exciting throughout. Given how many FPS nowadays tread the same well worn steps, as so many before them, I found this to be utterly refreshing. 9/10

This game is awesome. Plays really well with the mouse & keyboard or a gamepad. Good amount of blasting action. Excellent water vs lava mechanics. Get it!
