You've probably already played a Soul Calibur at some point. This is the ultimate iteration of that same core experience, retold once again with some additional modern flair thrown in for good measure. Tonnes of content, an awesome character creator, and truely epic battles make this the best fighter of 2018. The PC version is the best version technically available. The online experience is fun and tight for the most part. The art design and music are more vibrant than they've ever been in the series. In a year full of great fighting games, this truely shines above the rest.

Funniest game of the year. You'll laugh a lot. Simple gameplay, but the writing makes this one. It's very short, but the whole thing is glazed with a truely unique sweetness rarely found elsewhere.

One of the most spectacularly artful platformers ever made, whilst at the same time insanely difficult. Worth it for the visuals but be prepared to have an extremely hard time! Not for the easily wound-up.

This is everything I like about Japan condensed into one game. I've been a fan of Moss for a while, mainly thanks to their work on Raiden 4 Overkill & Raiden 5 on Xbone, but this seems to be the ultimate evolution of their brand of shoot'em up. A premium bullet hell experience with awesome visuals and top notch production all-round.

One of my favourite shmups on Steam. Graphics, music and overall presentation all absolutely on point. Gameplay is tough as nails but addictive, and very rewarding once you start to rack up the high scores. Stylistically it very much reminds me of the Mega Drive (although greater nerds than I may attest to it looking like something else). Overall if you're like me and have a taste for super fine retro styled shoot'em ups, Fire Arrow Plus is an essential title at an incredibly fair price. Don't hesitate, it's really good stuff!

I think this was maybe the 2nd game I ever got on steam besides HL2/CSS, back when games still came on DVD ROM (I know, right!?). Great promise at the time given it was a full single player adventure built in source, immiediately following in the footsteps of HL2, and is also the long-awaited sequel to a classic. I always appreciated the aesthetic in the original 'Sin' - it was stuck somewhere between Duke Nukem & Judge Dread, and was fairly tongue-in-cheek with a blunt sense of humour.

That's all softened and modernized to a degree here, but otherwise it generally does all the things a fan of the original would want to see. Still fun to smash through in 2017 (my playing of this game pre-dates steam's ability to track time played). If you like all things HL2 and Valve, whilst this isn't directly related to those titles, it is spiritually related, and is another testiment to a time when episodic games were apparently a really good plan until none of them got finished.

Superb! Excellently designed and developed in the original NES style. Looks, plays and sounds like the trilogy you remember. Difficulty is nicely paced, it starts off fairly painless and eventually becomes pretty tough. A great release which more than makes up for the lacklustre 'Neon' and truely terrible and half-baked 'Trilogy'. The only thing it's lacking really is online co-op.

It's hard to say anything positive about this one. Why Namco decided they needed to farm off the classic Ridge Racer licence to a western studio and make a game completely devoid of anything that made the series great in the first place is beyond me. On top of that, the single player game is needlessly difficult and tedious to try and get through.

The original arcade and playstation series of Ridge Racer were epic, incredible arcade games which still hold up today. Lets hope Namco come to their senses in the future and give us a proper Ridge Racer worthy of the name. Even a remaster of one of the original games would do. Steam is desperately lacking in classic arcade racers and anyone who is fond of the franchise and picks this up is likely to be dissapointed, even if it's dirt cheap.

Reseña de Acceso anticipado
There are a few system requirements that ARK doesn't tell you about before hand. Firstly you need infinate free time and willing to get involved in the game. Secondly you ideally need a crew of really good mates who also have infinate free time at their disposal. Thirdly, you need some sort of experimental future master-race machine that doesn't exist yet, as to be honest the game has never really worked very well in terms of performance. Turn the graphics up and it's a clunky mess, even on seriously OP computers. Turn the graphics down and it's a fairly functional pixelated chunky mess. Lots of things have been promised now long ago (DX12, further decent optimisation, etc) and not delivered upon, and for a game with so much promise that is frustrating.

I don't want to be completely negetive as I have had a good amount of fun in ARK. It's one of the most involving co-op experiences i've ever wound up getting sucked into. You and your clan will spend so much time building up infrastructure and a comprehensive garage full of dinos that when these things come under attack from other groups it can feel like a genuinely threatening experience. It has the ability to really get your heart racing. Unfortunately when you actually have to engage in combat, even when you're fully tooled up, the game is too clunky for the combat to be as rewarding an experience as it should be.

I often wonder whether this game is simply too ambitious for the unreal engine 4 technology it's been built on. There are a tonne of games running UE4 on Steam and other platforms, and for the most part they all look and run beautifully - perhaps the sheer scope of what happens on the huge 80 player maps in ARK is just a bit much for what the engine has been designed to deliver. If they are able to improve the way the game runs fairly dramatically at some point I will eat my hat so to speak and alter this review. The game feels like it could be so much more than it is with a bit of fine tuning, but the fine tuning never seems to come.
