Early Access Review
This might be my most anticipated game now. I had seen a review comparing it to PSO and they were right on the money. Atlyss captures that early 2000s online ARPG in the same magical way that PSO did.
If you have fond memories of solo, or co-op play with the original PSO, this might be the game for you, a small list of similarities:
  • Hub World that leads to all other areas.
  • Gear focused upgrades, with a limited number of skills/magic you can choose from to compliment them.
  • Solo or online co-op, both are viable!
  • Distinct "areas" that feel unique from each other.

Atlyss does have some more modern adjustments such as your character being more mobile, gear outfits/visual overrides and a good array of settings. My biggest complaint with the game so far is that I want more content! I believe that the devs have struck gold here, and will be worth well more than the $10 price tag once it is out of early access.

Very unique take on the VS genre. Music is outstanding and it shakes things up enough to make it an easy recommend!

This is an amazing indie platformer. You can probably run through all the levels in only a few hours, but for only $5, its well worth the cost in the entertainment it provided me. Well worth a pickup.

This game is a masterpiece. Its everything I wanted in a Hammerwatch sequel and more. Visuals are amazing, i'm already lost (in a good way) from the sheer amount of explorable content and the 3 classes I've tried out so far all feel amazing and can be varied enough to warrant multiple playthroughs. This game is a must pick up for anyone.
Everyone who is complaining about 'there is no multiplayer' and something about ARPGs is making up ♥♥♥♥ that doesn't matter. The multiplayer is the same in the demo and HW1 as it always has been, and game genre definitions are subjective at best. Why are you complaining about a save system that is normal in games like divinity and many more.
"B-b-but i can't join some rando's game with my max level character," why would you want to do this in the first place and why the ♥♥♥♥ don't you have friends who have a set time you can all sit down and play. Get some real friends so you can actually experience video games.

Vampire Survivors is the most recent trend-setter with an addictive, simple gameplay loop. Its very easy to pick up and let it fly. I'm excited to see whatever past 1.0 offers, and its easy to spend lots of time with this title.

I played runescape way long ago, so I DO enjoy seeing numbers go up. The game seems pretty cool for now, can't wait to see what else 4G will be adding to it!

TLDR; This game is a hidden classic.

As my first RTS game, it helped ease me into the RTS genre. It's easy to pick up and fun and challenging once you get further into it. While im 95% sure that the online portion of this game is dead, you can still make your own maps and scenarios. The story is great and immersive as well. Just give it a shot if you are an RTS fan, and if you are not one this might make you one.

EDIT:
Almost all of the negative reviews are about poor performance or freezes, assuming these people were all on Windows 8 or 10, there IS A PATCH FOR THIS. You need this patch to properly run the game or else your performance will suffer! As of this updated review (4/20/19) there is only one guide for this game and it has a link to the patch you need. Download it and use it to be able to fully enjoy the game! There is also another program you can use to make the game windowed, but you are limited on the resolutions you are able to use. Don't let the fact that it is an older game set you off! With minimal effort you can get it working and experience this hidden gem.
