Lovely game, but this should have been free/added on to the base game.

If you haven't played it, you should.

Graphics, story, mechanics, attention to detail, characters, locations, scale: All 10/10. PLAY IT

The only thing I could moan about is that after completing it 3 times, the fights are a bit samey. But I have most definitely had my money's worth - and I've bought it twice.

Attention to detail in all aspects are great. Graphics fantastic. Servers stable. AI on point. I reckon alone it may not be as fun but with a friend was great. Many negative reviews are from people with lower end PC's (not a judgement) and this game requires something powerful. (Speccy told me that my CPU was running at 81C at it's highest, my friends at 95.. - back down at 40 writing this) It's a demanding title!

£15 is a steal. That is a perfectly reasonable asking price for a game of this magnitude and polish. If this is early access then I am excited to see what is next.

This game is great. I don't see all the toxicity that others are referring to, because when the game finishes I drop a GG and leave. Having played killer and survivor fairly 50/50 I can say that both are fun; the latter more so with friends.

Yea you get campers, but that just gives your team mates an opportunity to get lots done and ultimately the killer suffers having only chased and killed 1 person whilst the rest escapes. Not to mention if you're playing with friends you can co-ordinate and trick the killer and attempt rescues. Whilst some games feel a bit flat and pointless with a camping killer or someone otherwise playing in a way that is more boring than cheating (looking at you tunnelers and pallet loopers), you also have games where it just flows and has epic moments of tension and excitement.

The issues with balancing and all sorts I don't get involved with, when I'm playing against a good killer it feels unfair and I moan, when I'm playing against good survivors it feels unfair and I moan; but only amongst my friends. The game IS unfair, it's 4v1, one can kill you, 4 can see round corners etc etc etc. It's not unbalanced, it's highly based on personal awareness and player ability.

It's fun with a very fair price tag.

My only main gripe is the DLC. Make this game £20 instead of £15 and give me the rest of the characters FFS.

EARLY ACCESS REVIEW
This game is mediocre at best. The oculus support is poor unless you have a 360 set up (DEVS: Add 1/4 turning!!) as most towers you can stand in will have you facing a wall. Towers where you face the right way however are ok.

The game is poor. The enemies are boring, the single player is boring and not catered for 1 person. The graphics are average, the progression is boring. However it is fun in multiplayer even with randoms.

The fact that after 2 years of development this is where it is at leaves little to be desired. Get it on sale, I got it for £8 on sale and feel like I overpayed.

The reason this is a recommended review is because despite it's many and obvious flaws, it is still fun for a small blast at times.

Update 2021, well done you added snap turning after 5? years!

Now the game's outdated and sucks.

Worth the download for 5 minutes of "oooh cool".

If you're looking to survive alone or with friends in a world that looks amazing and offers a decent sense of stealth and action then this game is great. If you want to build bases and rule over a server then, well, I don't know because I've never attempted that as it seems so long winded. (I can't be bothered to build a base which I then have to upkeep everyday, whereas logging in, mooching about and seeing what happens for a few hours is fun).

This game shines - for me - in sneaking around trying to survive. It uses the CryEngine meaning that the scenery is wonderful and it is entirely possible to run away and hide by simple jumping into a bush, the foliage offers fantastic cover and a true sense of hiding from someone. Play it for too long and you become fearless and run around a bit too much and die more often.

Constant updates, it's changed only for the better since i purchased it in 2016. Most of the negative reviews are on aspects of the game that don't affect me when I play - bases and storage. Just play to stay alive instead of building a home!
