it's good for no reason.

A decent shooter with aliens and stuff.
Just finished it and I already can’t remember who I played as. was it prophet or was it Alcatraz? No, I’m not going to look it up!

The story was okay, the German dub was okay too. The story is really cliché, how people treat you because you have a suit that gives you superman powers, how an alien virus spreads and how you try to save all of humanity just by yourself and the suit.

This Crysis game, the third game does have the same problem, has only 2 real abilities, a cloak and an ability that gives you temporal invincibility.

OKAY! The weapons look really cool but they all feel like they lack the punch of a gun. the weapon sounds are all bad except when you have a silencer on them.
you won’t be needing the silencer anyway because the stealth in this game is very barebones and there are just a few levels in which you can use this ability to its fullest. most of the levels are just the typical shoot until something happens levels, there are just a handful of levels in which you can sneak around enemies kill maybe a few of them without letting the other enemies know that they just lost a soldier or alien and get to the next objective. there are more than enough ammo crates to get you through every shootout.
like in every Crysis game, the game begins to become much worse once you encounter aliens. most of the alien types can’t be killed with one shot or are to close together to get by without not getting noticed somehow.

the game runs very strange on my system. the controls are delayed and I can’t play on the highest settings, actually, I had to play the game on the lowest settings because it would stutter just constantly. but even on the lowest settings my game stutters all the time. I have a 1060 and a 4790k or whatever it’s called. but, I haven’t seen anyone else here that has the same problems, it sucked regardless.
sometimes a weapon change wouldn’t be recognized or my crosshair would just disappear OR the graphics would glitch. I sadly couldn’t take a picture of the glitches but they look like someone stretched a texture across the screen, if you have played cyberpunk day one you probably have seen this probably, I certainly remember that sometimes v would take out a gun but the hand would be stuck somewhere of the screen and only the finger tips would stretch up to the trigger :D
oh, and Cyberpunk is a really bad game which you should avoid at all costs. Don’t let the other reviews for the game fool you, the game has fundamental flaws that cannot be fixed even with a 100 patches.
last evening, I watched Josee - The Tiger and the Windfish, it was a darn good movie. It didn’t made me cry like A Silent Voice did but I really enjoyed it (you might enjoy both!). In short, it’s a movie about a girl that sits in a wheelchair, likes to draw especially the sea world (no, not the zoo) and then there is a guy who works at a diving shop. The boy becomes the girl’s servant and, in the end, they become very good friends. It’s quite the touching movie and I waited so long until the English sub arrived… the first movie I watched in my new apartment, it was worth the waiting.

BUT I DIGRESS

you probably have to play the game when you want to understand how some of the lore functions, for example how the spores of the virus spread and so on. But I would recommend playing the whole franchise when you have time. only the first Crysis can be quite long for a typical fps, all other are about 5-6 hours long depending on the difficulty settings (I recommend playing on hard, it’s not that difficult anyway).

there aren’t as many flaws the game has... except the few I said already I can’t think of much, WAIT I REMEMBER!
this game has like 4 or 5 times the same boss fight which is a gigantic robot with an emp or whatever the thing is on its roof that you have to kill. I hated it every time because it was so obvious when it would appear.

OKAY that has to be enough ^~^

The story is a harem plot.
The first Bioshock looks better.
It doesn’t run well... at all!
I can’t play the game without stuttering and the devs abandoned the game as soon as it was released.

I have only played the SGW mainline games up to this one and all of them suck to varying degrees.
I bought it for 4 bucks including the season pass.
regret it. I should’ve bought 400gramms of chicken breasts instead. Or a new pair of socks.

But for you, just keep your money to yourself and skip this trash.

The game is very straight forward.
It tells you right from the start how the game ends, kill Alpha-Ceph.
Alpha-Ceph looks a bit like the Sandworm from SpongeBob, maybe you can imagine it better with that example.

But less about what the game is about... how does it play?
I would say that it plays well. It plays well "enough". Why only enough and not great?
You see, the third entry has dumbed down many of the Nanosuits abilities to just one hand full instead of 2 hands.
There are basically only 2 abilities. Armor and STILTH. Armor gives you more health and the other makes you invisible.

Yes, my fellow German user.

Except the beginning and the end, you play in more or less sandbox type of levels which are full with enemies fitting to its environment. There are only 2 enemy types, Alien and soldier. there is only one type of soldier with varying types of guns. with aliens you have one that looks like a drone the other is just a different looking soldier and with an alien gun and then there are the bullet sponges.

You can mark every enemy with your new binoculars. you can even hack a few things with it. It makes stealth really easy even on the hardest difficulty. except for the first level, your enemies can lose track of you and it’s alright to mix different playstyles together. I tend to instantly restart or load the previous checkpoint as soon as I get spotted. but only because I use to play games that wouldn’t allow me to play different. but here you can play sneaky, find a new gun (from which there are plenty of) and then start to shoot without a silencer.

The story is okay, I guess? ugh... I didn’t like it... but I liked how corny it sounded at the end of the game!
Ok I only liked the "I’m only human" and the "it’s not just about the suit" stuff in the story.
Ahh and you play as prophet. Many times, you have your old friend Psycho with you.

The game looks great. Nothing to ad here.

Crysis 1 is in my eyes the better game. The second game the worst. The third is something in between.
I think that the game is alright. it’s fun but sometimes can get boring and I can’t play the game for too long because it can get very repetitive. but sometimes the Dev’s try to mix things up with driving sections. To sum it up, I can recommend the game.
You can also just buy all three games for under 20 bucks and see for yourself.
One last thing I have to tell you. Once I uninstalled the game, my save game was deleted with it.

And it’s not worth your time.

Bad things start to happen as soon as you start the game. Everything is upside down except the Menu Buttons... ~Quality~

Don’t let the other reviews fool you.
This game is bad. Every game from city interactive up to this one is bad at its best.

The story is generic and a bit confusing.
the game starts in the past, then in the present, then you are again in the past, and in the present again. Why would you want to structure your story like that? it made no sense.
You kill Russians, Taliban and after one of your Russian friends betrays you just every possible nation and terrorists’ group. You kill someone in the end.
the only thing that I can remember about the story is that you play as a sniper called Anderson.

Do you remember the stealth sections from any call of duty? Yes? NOW THINK OF DOING A FULL 5-6 HOUR LONG GAME OF THAT! The game is nothing but a script. everything you do that isn’t told you will lead to a mission restart. not because the game recognizes that you basically failed a mission BUT you will have to restart the mission because the game won’t continue unless you do as the script says.

the graphics look bad. motion blur was put into the game to cover how bad the game actually looks. models look bad. most of the animations look stiff, only the death animations of the enemies look decent.
there aren’t many options to customize the graphics anyway... the game runs on the CryEngine, do you know which game ran on the same engine, came out much earlier and was much more fun despite being a call of duty clone? Crysis.

I’ve seen people down here that say that the story from ghost warrior 3 is much worse than in this game. but it doesn’t make this one any better.

I MEAN I GET IT... there isn’t really a better sniping game aside from sniper elite. there aren’t a lot of competitors I know. and the sniping in this game feels (examples: you can see the bullets fly, the hit detection is ok and you have enough time to correct your mistakes and you see how the bullet flies and where the impact is very clear) so much better than in any other sniper focused game out there (except the newer sniper ghost warrior or sniper elite games maybe).

it’s quite interesting to see how city interactive improved over the years they make games and how the third entry really was a bit of a success for them. it’s very interesting.

to sum it up in 3 words:
skip this trash.

Well, what should I say...

The game is decent, I think this would be the best thing to say.
I wouldn’t play it again but it was decent for the almost 2 hours it took from start to finish.

It does have a charming storyline and everything you do in the air works quite well.
Everything else just doesn’t click with me.
The animations suck. Only the first-person animations of your character are okay. All aside from that looks really terrible. The NPC animations are really… REALLY bad.

The worst part is landing on platforms. I couldn’t find a reliable way to land on any platform without falling off of them.
Most of the time I would fly of something and have no chance of coming back but spawn on the last platform I was standing on.

But when I take a look at the achievements I think that it was intentional to gain some type of momentum and gain a bit more of airtime. To be frank, I don’t have a single achievement in this game, because the only way to get them is to finish the levels without failing once or using the least amount of grappling hook shots.

I can’t remember where I got the game from, I mean, look at the amount of games I have...
But I think it was from a certain humble site where you can buy the occasional bundles with games and software. and sometimes they give out games, I think I got it from there :/

It’s an indie game. and its ok for what it is.
it looks decent, it runs well, plays okay but its not a must have.

Nothing was ever said about a second game so I can’t say much about it.

A short but fun adventure.

Skip this trash.

A game which can stand on its own, even when it’s the sequel to an almost completely different game.
The story is good enough to get you 'almost' tear up.
When the game wants to show you something cool or weird (it is still a horror game after all), this game will never never never hold anything back because it’s too weird or the game can’t put this on the screen because it’s not that well written, NO.

If the game wants to show you a beautiful scene with a lot of things on screen, it will.
if the game wants to tell you a story about a broken man who has to deal with guilt all the time and eventually gets out, it will.


The game will look awful if you look at things like textures or the streaming problems.
Sound is decent, guns sound like they should.
The game would really profit of some kind of texture pack and new animation for some of the faces you will look at. It really looks that terrible sometimes.

But still... It was a lot of fun playing it for the first time. And I’m coming back someday for the new gun i got for the new game+ mode! :D

Wait wait... something seems odd.
I haven’t said a word about the gameplay...

ALRIGHT let’s make this one short.
The gameplay consists of shooting zombies in a segmented open world.
There is a crafting system which can give you 2 optional weapons if you find the correct parts for them.
And besides that, you can craft stim packs with herbs and ammunition for your tiny arsenal of guns.
You can play the game in Third or First -Person.
There are Scraps (if I remember correct) that you can collect and upgrade your weapons.

Every enemy you kill, leaves some kind of resources behind.
One of those things is a weird jelly type in different colors.
You can upgrade you character with them.
What kind of upgrades? for example there are a lot of "just stats" upgrades that just give you more health or more stamina.
But there are many (in my eyes) essential upgrades like killing an enemy from cover.

But once you get some of the better upgrades the game is decent enough to have fun.
The story makes it better though.

I think I forgot something... AH THE STORY!
Yea just read the description on the store page.
It tells you enough and I don’t want to spoil things.
AH! AND THE PRESENTATION IS GREAT!


And that’s for my review.
It is fun, you probably want to replay it once you finished it.
I hope I could give you a tiny glimpse at the game that isn’t some type of checklist (everyone who does that should be publicly execu... BUT IM GETTING OF TRACK HERE!).
