As a long time fan of the Harvest Moon (and by extension, Rune Factory) series and formula, I could not say "BUY THIS GAME" enough times to satisfy even myself.

Stardew Valley does more than just bring a 20+ year old game concept that I love back into my hands on PC--it takes that concept, explores the nostalgia of it all with beautiful retro graphics, adds all the neccessary things to make the game feel modern and streamlined, and expands on the "little details" which gives the game more charm than one can imagine. Farming, livestock, fishing, mining, monster slaying, romance, relationships, memorable characters, an intuitive UI and control scheme, fine attention to detail, an easy and sensible crafting system, and a logical and fitting progression that is mixed with thoughtful dialogue and nice little easter eggs that will make you chuckle all come together for an OUTSTANDING experience that will make you wish that this game could go on forever.

And that brings me to final point of why this game is so great, and will continue to be great. With the overwhelmingly positive reception by the PC gaming community since its release, there is no question that what makes Stardew Valley a great game is the fact that it has all these elements and was designed with the idea of user created content and mods implemented in the future. This is the game of its type that we have waited for for years--and with tender loving care given to it by an already dedicated community that I have no doubts in, Stardew Valley is going to end up being one of my most played games on Steam in due time. And when multiplayer arrives, I have no doubt that it will be even more amazing.

Buy this game. Play it. Love it.
