I picked this up cheap expecting to drop it in a day or two, and now I've got 62 hours and 2 DLC's (cuz gatdamn some of those buildings are PRETTY), and lost control of my life.
Additionally, it's controller compatible on PC (may need to force enable in properties if you prefer not using Xbox controller)

Find a good server (for me that's lowering thirst/food need because I can barely remember to drink water IRL), have the wiki up on another screen, and you'll find yourself going, "FML it's 2am when did it become 2am"

Editing+adding to my previous review since it was initially made in frustration and is in retrospect not entirely helpful.

-'New' review-:

Blue screened on first launch. Had to edit config file to play, even on a high-end computer, and even then it crashed twice.
Game is very pretty, has very cool environment interaction (the environment destructibility has attention to detail), overall a neat concept but does nothing new at all.
There is an obvious amount of people who've played this in beta present making the initial game-play feel basically like any Battlefield game (the graphics, and numerous other things make it look/feel very EA too).

After speaking to a friend about the game, it sounds significantly more fun with 2 other friends (and I may add an edit with that experience if I pick it up again). Spawns half the time feel like you generate on top of enemies, which is wild as honestly the maps are large but not overwhelmingly big.
When joining games (which took a VERY long time to load into) I had mostly two types of experiences:

A.half the time it was only me and 1 other person, meaning we were down a teammate
B. my teammates were playing team death match in an objective game basically rending the round moot.

All around neat to mess around with for a little bit, you aren't missing much passing this one for now if you're unsure. It's a steal for free, but it doesn't really bring anything new to the table-- load-outs available have you get stomped by players until you grind out the points to get new guns/support items/auxiliary items, etc., main excitement comes from destroying environment, and most teams you play against have the same exact "classes" (there are 3: Heavy, Medium, Light and all this does is change your "main ability", how much health you have, and what items you have available).

It just doesn't feel rewarding-ly unique enough to justify my time, I still can't recommend this game based on my experience.

Very charming game, but save and quit often. The animation is beautiful, it's incredibly chill, but I had 3 occasions within 2.3 hrs where the game was stuck (not sure if I did an option too fast, it doesn't feel like it likes alt-tabbing.
Due to this I lost a lot of progress even with the autosaves.

Early Access Review
TL;DR: Breath of the Wild and Genshin Impact had a beautiful baby without microtransactions, and Pokemon was BotW's sidechick.

-------------------------------

EDIT: After 60+ hrs of play, I feel I've comfortably reached more or less "the end". Overall, the game is currently a steal for $25 but the multiplayer is EXTREMELY laggy (even with server restarts). Once you've been on a roll with the game's systems, you can't fully take advantage of them as at some point there is a placement limit and you can lose items.

Once a streamlined series of quests are introduced, more fleshed out skills, and general optimization/balancing, I'd still highly recommend.

This game ABSOLUTELY has the potential to become one of the crafting lynchpins circa Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, etc.
While it seems like it's 60% done, it's a WHOPPING 60% that you have access to. It's absolutely a blast with friends, and while it is unstable (restart game ~40-60 mins) it's still completely playable with PLENTY to do. I do not understand some of the bad reviews as most of them have <6hrs of play and haven't seen the beautiful sandbox at your fingertips.
I'd love to be able to work on a game like this, please devs refine this awesome crafter.

Will update as I reach 20-40hrs.

Amazing content, even for early access. Can easily get 40 hours or so out of it. This is advanced Divinity! Plays a lot like the D&D you know. Larian did an amazing job with Divinity and given time it's going to be a must have.

This is borderline unplayable. It has the wonderful potential to be a reinspiration of Left 4 Dead, instead the models get broken, spam being thrown is a thing, and the guns are unbalanced.
Devs, you can definitely fix this with balance changes and more polish. Albeit free to play, that doesn't mean it has room to be released broken or be called out for it.

Outward is unforgiving in the best way after you put in time to get the payoff. After nailing down the combat (decently similar in a way to Dark Souls), and unlocking what magic has to offer, Outward becomes a beautiful immersive experience with wonderful ambiance and music. A must buy if you're looking for a difficult RPG with a delightful story with many options than you're made aware of. Figuring out parts of the game, and the lack of hand-holding are what make this game so enjoyable.
