Is this the "real" Fable? Yes, yes it sure is. It is the same good old game in a fancy new suit, and that doesn't have to ba a bad thing. I have always liked the fable series and I view the first game as the best in the series. As such, I have been waiting for this tirelessly since I heard that it was coming to pc.

Is it a good port then? It is now. It had its fair share of problems at launch and during beta - loss of audio at random places mostly.

The mechanics are unchanged since it's the same game in a new engine (if I have understood it correctly) and thats a great thing! You have the option of playing it with the old xbox-controller layout or with a new, And i really recommend playing with a gamepad.

Is it a good reskin? I say that it is. It looks great! you can recognize the effects from the original, which I think is important, but still see that it really is made in a modern engine.

Something I don't really like is the addition of new items that mainly seem to be for "fun" and are essentially microtransactions to buy new costumes. There is a sword that is supposed to react to silver keys, but any guide on the internet make it unnecessary and saves you a few bucks.

Over all, would I recommend it? Yes. Absolutely it is still one of the best examples of a good rpg with wonderful voice acting and a great sense of humor. Not to mention that it is very satisfying to pop guards heads of with a bit of chain lightning.
