Controls are retarded. Designed for a console. Not very engaging like a childrens version of mortal combat and smite combined.

Big let down. I wish this game tugged at the feels chord that some of the old civilizations did but this game feels like it was thrown together in a basement. Good ideas, poor execution. If this is the trajectory for the franchise Civ 8 will be a Ipad app game played by toddlers.


Biggest Cons:

Reskin of Civ 5
Pointless micromanaging with trade routes. Could be automated.
They attempted to make it appear futuristic but it left the UI and factions cold and emotionless
What was paraded to be a mysterious storyline ended up just being some text boxes with quotes and some what feels like quickly thrown together victory options.
Aliens are just barbarians. That's it.
Research web is uneccessarily difficult to navigate.


Biggest Positives:

The Covert Ops has lots of potential to be a very useful and fun part of gameplay although it has it's bugs.

Satellites are interesting addition.
