Played this game for hours after Edgerunners came out, then after doing just about everything in the game, I was ready for Phantom Liberty. Patch 2.01 comes around, and now my game will not boot past the 1st screen. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the game, made sure there were absolutely ZERO mods (only had 1 before and it was removed long before 2.0), updated drivers, even backed up and removed my saves in case they were causing problems, even went as far as to try and rollback the game to a previous update (which failed). Nothing. The game is stuck, it won't boot past the first screen at all. Until this is addressed, the game is unplayable.

Early Access Review
Best budget game you can buy on Steam! Nothing is more satisfying than watching hundreds of enemies get blasted by your character's max leveled gear.

The one issue with the game is the engine itself. It will slow down if there's too much happening on screen. At the time of writing this, even good gaming PC specs can't fix the lag. The creator is working on a fix for this, and has an experimental build you can launch the game into if you'd like.

Usually by the time you complete a build that lags the game out like that however, you could basically stand still and watch every enemy get vaporized as the enter the screen until the level ends.

Resident Evil Revelations is a great port from the 3DS version. Each level is played in episodes, with 1-3 levels per episode. A customization engine is added in for each gun you acquire that is implemented in both the story and raid modes. Speaking of Raid Mode, it is a great feature in this game. With 1-2 to players, the heroes trek through levels and fight off against foes with set levels, and extra buffs (ie. stronger attacks, take less damage, etc.) You will level up, unlocking more weapons, mods, and upgrades for yourself. I highly reccomend this game as it really does well in bringing back that claustrophobic feel from Resident Evil 1 while maintaining the over the shoulder perspective. I also reccommend finding a friend for raid mode as you'll want someone who's got your back, as well as someone you can communicate with.

This game in my opinion has been the best in the series. Play levels anyway you want, earn cash to unlock gear for single player and mulitplayer modes (earned in both single and multiplayer, multiplayer custom classes require badges earned from levelling as well as cash) A great amount of single player missions as well as 2 player co-op missions (one section of missions are even co-op only!) Multiplayer mainly consists of playing as an acrobatic spy for one round, then playing a durable merc in the next round (or vice versa). Multiplayer items require badges to unlock items as well as cash. I beat this game on the Xbox 360 and promised myself to buy this game as soon as I could for my pc.

A couple things though. Anisotropic filtering seemed to mess with the opening loading screen. The game crashed on me once as well, but haven't had a probem since. A decent internet is a must for online co-op/multiplayer, as the game runs via host. (Mine is a piece of crap when it comes to hosting). Still, the game has been very enjoyable and well worth the money I put into buying it. I say pick it up when it goes on sale!

PS, make sure you have a good computer to run this game or you just wasted your money. This game is graphic heavy so I recommend running it on a custom pc.
