Great classic game, however has a RCE (Remote Code Execution) exploit that means if you try to play multiplayer you can get infected with malware.

I had to find some random Reddit thread about it to even know I was vulnerable while playing, unacceptable for a game on the Steam marketplace.

FYI: Plutonium exist which fixes this issue, however I've noticed it has much less servers. No hardcore servers at all :(

Insanely fun, but only because mods allow more than 2 players + other super fun cards.

Doesn't allow you to pick what region you want to queue in, will essentially always put you in EU servers. As a player who already gets minimum of 60 ping to US servers on games, EU is unplayable for me.

Would be a fun game if they let just select US servers...

EDIT: After reading other reviews I should clarify launcher worked fine, game loaded in without errors like everyone else says. They have fixed all that as far as I can tell. You just can't select what region you want to queue into making the game far to laggy to be worth playing, even free.

Very fun game, good mechanics, awesome community made content like TTT or CoD zombies.

Played for a session, but honestly can not recommend this until they add a toggle grip option to the game.

Not having it made my hand actually hurt. And yes, I know you can get pre-made bind layouts, but that makes other stuff go wonky as well. That along with the super long and super slow start means that since I last played a ~2 hour session, I have not even wanted to load this up again, even a little bit. Just left a bad taste in my mouth ya know? (Aka pain in my hand).

Will change my review when toggle grip is added.


EDIT: To clarify to the people responding to this, I was using a Vive controller. People saying "don't squeeze the controller" or "you have weak fingers" have clearly never tried to play this game with the Vive controllers.

This game has given us a VR gold standard for how melee combat should work. Everything about it is so perfect.

Reading through the reviews, I see some people complaining about how the weapons/arms lag behind your real movements, and what they don't seem to realize is that this is because things in the game have weight to them. If you hold a dagger it will follow your hand perfectly, but the heavier the weapon the more sluggish it will become.

My god if somehow every other medieval style game had these physics I would probably die from how amazing it would be. Like imagine Skyrim with these mechanics???

To be fair, overall there is not a whole lot of content in this game, but just the amazing physics/mechanics alone make me keep coming back to it. Mods adding weapons just makes it even better.

PS:: Turn on climbing in the experimental section of settings, then use a double-handed axe. BOOM, you are now playing Getting Over It in VR!!

TL;DR: An AMAZINGLY made game, please buy it so the devs can have enough money to fulfill their final vision of the game, and make it more than just an arena type fighting game.

Wasted all my time installing and doing tutorial for multiplayer to just not work. Couldn't join friends group or visa versa.

The game was fun and new at first, but very very quickly became boring. A majority of the game is just cutscenes and running around to each objective, and the few times you do have combat all feel the same. Dodge dodge click dodge dodge click - sign. Wash rinse repeat.
To sum up my thoughts, this game was fun at first but it's super repeative and boring after you get over the awe of the graphics and new mechanics.

With 205 hours(Probably half that or less for my actual playtime since it keeps track even when on the menu screen) I would say I have enough playtime to write a good review.
The only reason I do recommend this is due to the fact you can play with mods. If there wasn't such a big modding community, and servers that turn up harvest rates, I would NEVER recommend the game.
It can be grindy, but going on servers and playing with friends is the thing that will make the game fun, as long as your computer can run it.
Do be warned, it is VERY easy to get bored of this game. And not just like "Oh I'll put this down for a few days and start again", its more like "Oh I've done just about everything, I'm never going to touch this again".
Wait till there is a steam sale for it, its not really worth the buy for $30, since I played it for about 2-3 weeks then uninstalled and havent played again since.
