Pros
  • A healthy combination of balance and fun ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in every character's kit.
  • A cast full of personality and style.
  • Satisfying and fluid combo system.
  • Unique and interactive systems keep every part of the match (defense, offense, neutral) interesting.
  • Beautiful 2D style full of charm.
  • Raito's god-like soundtrack.

Cons
  • Hard to get good at, get ready to practice a lot.
  • Missing chronicle mode from the first game. Singleplayer features are basic and could be considered lackluster.
  • Overpriced.
  • Graphically demanding for a retro-style game.
  • Small player-base: Play at peak hours or play as a discord fighter.
  • Small dev team means bad customer support: Because French-Bread isn't equipped to do it, Arcsys is responsible for handling customer support. Considering how poorly they handle that in their flagship game (Guilty Gear STRIVE), you can expect it to be near non-existent for this game.
  • RIP old UNI menu music. :(

Personally not a con for me, but could be for you
  • Not as cinematic as other fighters.
  • No combo breaker system.
  • Technical inputs only, there is no simple input mode.
  • Long and safe pressure strings on block that require an active defense to be challenged.
  • Higher damage when compared to the first game, leading to more explosive matches.

TL;DR:
+ Worth the full price for any fighting game aficionado.
+ Recommended to buy at a sale for anyone who dabbles with the genre.
- NOT recommended as your first fighting game. Unless you've got the fighting spirit in you. Will you take on the challenge?
