Overall amazing experience;

Good atmosphere and soundtrack--the main goal of the game is to wander and explore. The art style and music keeps you searching for each area change.

Combat is serviceable, its about as engaging as Oblivion's mashing LMB, enemys have location based damage, like zombies losing their arms, or a chimera losing the snake and goat head, which gave me enough incentive to fight monsters more than once. The game is never difficult enough to where the combat becomes an issue; the level scaling and weapon choices quickly trivialize combat by about 50% through the game. You want to explore, not fight, anyway.

The lore / storytelling is basic fromsoft style cryptic, however some of the hidden objectives in the game are so cryptic I doubt most would figure them out without outside information. A lot of it is walking along every wall spamming the interaction key hoping a hidden wall reveals itself--this is overall a minor gripe, as it only effects trying to 100% the game.
