Completely and utterly pointless and unsatisfying.

Unexpected gem of a game. Easy to dive right into, fast match-making and matches are quick and fulfilling. 2v2 is a lot of fun! If you get frustrated by games like League of Legends and Fortnite where you never seem to win .... this is the game for you.

INCREDIBLE BUTTON-MASHING ACTION. Plays amazingly on a controller, although to interact with the UI you will need your mouse - which I take no issue with, since gamepad-optimized menus are often bulky and bad for inventory management.

Definitely try this game on a controller and you will enjoy it. The combat is fast, reactive and rewarding - all around satisfying for any fan of hack 'n slash action based combat.

I have played 3 of the Saints Row games; Saints Row 2, Saints Row The Third, and Saints Row IV. It is an incredible, immersive experience and a MUST-have for all PC gamers. You will fall in love with Saints' over-the-top, surreal brand of humor and it's diverse cast of characters. I STRONGLY recommend you at least start with the 2nd game and play them in order. As the Boss, you will form a strong bond with your fellow Saints, based on the mutual trust in one another which is reinforced with every risky and lifesaving heist you pull off together. The creative team does a stellar job of making their characters come to life; with personalities that change and flourish, it's easy to imagine them as being real people. Shaundy is the perfect example of this; she blossoms from chilled out (easy-going but, often irritating) stoner into a focused, directive, ass-kicking woman. I would like to see more of her backstory and filling in the gap of storyline between SR 2 and 3.

The minigames are vastly improved upon from the 2nd game. In the 2nd they really felt like chores and lacked replayability. The Third improves upon the replayability aspect and actually makes them FUN!

I haven't finished the game yet - I am at almost 30% completion - but it has got me HOOKED and I am looking forward to learning more about the Saints.

Wish I had downloaded the demo first or read up about the game before buying! Thought it was a game like Recettear. I did play for about an hour and a half, so I could at least offer up a somewhat informed review for those of you thinking about buying. Which is worth the 10 bucks to me! I probably got closer to two and a half hours through the story though, b/c I clicked through the dialogue pretty darn fast.

I'm not a fan of full-on visual novels where you don't get to make any choices ... but for those of you who enjoy the genre, this is exactly what you're looking for. AAA+ quality "game" as far as art, animation, story and the characters themselves. You'll & truly really fall in love with your cat-girls and even the narrator (you!) is a likable dude, so no one should have trouble relating. Also, they're not kidding with the "mature" and "nudity" user-tags, haha. Tastefully done, still, if you don't find yourself getting a bit, uh, excited, playing this game, well ... you're just not human!

10/10. I have yet to give out a perfect score on any game I've reviewed, but this is truly a flawless piece of art. I personally did not encounter any bugs, glitches, or even spelling/grammatical errors, so I will stick to my perfect score until finding otherwise.

1/10. 1 point for being a functional game, 0 for everything else. A bleak commentary on life; the brainchild of a miserable and obviously depressed individual who mistakenly believes the rest of the world shares their cynicism.

Unintentional running-scared-in-the-woods simulator. Overrated for sure, but worth a play-through.

Contains classic horror-tropes and cliches, some not so cleverly disguised, but for the most part the bigger tropes (killer birds, poltergeists & ax-murderers) are played on a somewhat satirical note. The story told is nothing groundbreaking or one you haven't necessarily heard before - but to it's credit, up until the final cut scenes, you won't be able to outright call the ending.

This game suffers from poor progression. The first chapter successfully reels the player in with flashes of climactic events yet to come. Anticipation builds, curiosity is piqued and then -- waiting ... waiting ... yep. The story comes to a practical halt, stringing you along with useless tidbits of information which have no greater meaning or impact as far as the plot goes. Alan Wake's saving grace is in the last two chapters, which reward the player's admirable patience with fulfilling and detailed sequences of events. Unfortunately, the transitions between chapters are blatant and without grace, reeking of inexperience in storytelling.

To break it down; Episode 1 is consistent throughout, and moderate in it's rhythm - to effect - as all stories must set the scene and establish some background. Then come Episodes 2-4; whereas a good narrative will lay down the brass tacks and drop some hints with substance, Alan Wake's narrative is merely a distraction, desperate to keep the player's interest by use of one-liners and random musings which make no contribution to the overall story arc. Finally, Episodes 5 & 6 pick up where the intensity of Episode 1 dropped off, the player finds themselves running through the woods once again, but this time with a purpose and a need to tie up all loose ends.

All in all, not a complete waste of time. Still, too lengthy a game for it's own story-telling purposes. Play it if you like cheesy horror flicks and you have time to kill. 6/10

TL;DR: decent story, poor execution, combat & game-play solely for purposes of lengthening the play time.
