At $5, this game will suffice for a handful of hours of entertainment in its current state. While it is a bit buggy, and some things just plainly aren't implemented yet, the current early access version (as of 9/24/15) is fun, challenging at points, and satisfyingly modular.

The devs appear to be heavily involved with the community, and at $5, this would actually appear to be an EA purposed at funding development, rather than being a premature cash grab.

If you enjoy shop sims, RPGs, or fun and relaxing games, I would pick this up.

Totally stupid and unbelievable polot.

Totally stupid and impractical floor plan for a shower.

Totally creepy multiethnic fathers who are all too willing to shower with you/together.

Totally creepy, stupid, and multiethnic/10

As you can see, I've only spent about 4 hours in SRIV, so take this review with a grain of salt.

I played the third Saints Row game on Xbox for quite a while, and had quite a bit of fun doing it. SRIV sat in my inventory for about a year before I got around to playing it, and I have to say, I was a bit disappointed.

The map is essentially the same as it was in the 3rd game, or at least that's how it feels. My surroundings felt uninteresting, unimportant, and most of all, reused.

The super powers are fun, but Crackdown did it better and more interestingly. This game was pretty meh for me. I wouldn't pick it up unless you were frothing at the mouth over the 3rd game and were thinking, "the only thing that could make this better would be super powers."

I played this game on Xbox when it was "current," and I can assure you that it's a great game. However, this is NOT a PC game. It is incredibly obvious that this is just a shoddily done PC port from a console game. The game itself is locked at 30fps and there is no workaround, and god forbid you play on a screen above 720p.

TFUII is a great game... on console. I do not recommend buying it on PC.

EDIT: Abandoned. Stay away if you value finished products.

Clearly I haven't played this game a ton, but I would like to share my very initial impressions of this game before I come back later on to write a more cohesive and holistic review.

First, I'd like to say that I've always loved sandbox games. As a fairly creative person, I'm able to enjoy them for hours on end without losing stamina. If sandbox games aren't for you, you might not want to play the game in its current state.

That said, the minimal amount of time I've spent in-game has been positively GREAT. You know that feeling you get when a game just... gets you? That's the feeling I get with this game. There's a certain nostalgia that comes with quaint village sims like this, and I for one am a huge fan.

I'm gonna stop here, since I can't really justify much more of a review on 0.4 hours of play time, but I will say that if you're a fantasy-head, enjoy RTS games, and prefer a somewhat relaxed if strategically oriented playstyle, you will enjoy this game.

EDIT AFTER A COUPLE MORE HOURS OF GAME PLAY --

As I suspected, additional play time has presented a few caveats you might like to know about before you purchase the early access version of this game. The game runs well, and has enough depth to allow the user to explore with a decently sized military regiment if they expand their land enough, but the game is INCREDIBLY unstructured after the tutorial. Eventually you get into a rythm where you don't really //need// to expand, all of your resources are generating at a solid enough rate, your villagers have access to medicine, clothing, food entertainment, and life is peachy. You've positioned guards around the town so that rogue spiders really aren't an issue, and the game just gets... quiet. Sure, you can opt to venture forth with your armed militia, but this provides little more than additional resources, and on rare occasion an item or two that might make ONE (not all) of your militia men a little bit stronger.

I'll reiterate that this game is great. It has a great vision, shows promise, and is fun to play, but I do agree with others when they say that the game needs more direction. Like I said, it's all too easy to fall into a position where there's absolutely no tangible reason to expand.

Dungeon defenders is by far the best cooperative game I have ever played. The intergration of tower-defense and action RPG mechanics is perfect, and the game has maintained a balanced combat system since its creation. Starting out is challenging and difficult, endgame is quite literally insane and will most likely cause frame drops, but only if you don't kill things quickly enough ;)

10/10
5/5
100/100

However you wanna say it, Dungeon Defenders is amazing. I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel.
