I have just defeated the first major boss and I can already recommend this.
What made me like it at first is how well put together it is. Everything feels right so far, the sprites, the sounds, the parrying, the dialogue, the music kicking in when in combat, the little roll after dodging while sprinting... it feels very good to play and feels even better when you start to play it well and fast.

One of the things that might be more divisive are the time limits, personally I really like them. Also, the time limits are optional!
If you don't like it, you can just disable it by using the explorer mode. I don't think the game depends on the time limit to be great so I recommend you give it a try even if you don't like time limits.

I like the idea of an exploration game with a time limit, it turns exploring into a decision that costs the resource of time rather than something with no cons.
And since it's a time limit for each character, including you, and that time can be extended with items, I really like the layer of having to choose whose time to extend.
It's uncomfortable when you watch your timer go down a little every time you enter a new area, and when you see how much time someone has left when you talk to them. But it being uncomfortable is why I like it, it made me feel the urgency of the situation instantly. I also feel it's long enough for you to take your time sometimes, but short enough for you to feel it's really there.

The game is very open-ended. It gives you a recommended path, but it gives you a lot of freedom to do things the way you want to! I don't know how long the game is, but I really hope it's just the right length so that I can feel good about replaying it multiple times and trying different routes and outcomes.
