So I am not recommending it, however that is more due to its lack of a feeling like a finished game level quality, the minor bugs that really shouldn't exist (don't attempt to use Danish characters to name your character), and the games overall just kinda generic feel, as opposed to any real 'this game sucks' thoughts. I will likely continue to play it but if you are on the fence and the $40 is a significant cost for you I would say try to find more information and maybe consider other games instead, because there are definitely better games available even in just this genre.

If you told me this game was still in Beta or was Early Access, I would have not questioned most of the minor bugs and would have done my part to report them instead of being annoyed by them.

Why will I continue to play it, well I already bought it, there are no monthly fees, and while all the skins available for weapons and armor are horrible, the default weapons and armor are more in keeping with the games art style which I do not mind. But I consider the art style of some of the best games in this genre to be overly cartoonish and fairly annoying.

Over all its low investment repetitive game play which I find fairly relaxing as a break from better games (at least until you get to late game which I am expecting to not be quite as relaxing, but can not comment on yet)

Edit: it is now a few days later and tonight it is crashing repeatedly, fun times.

It is a good game and should provide several hours of entertainment for those that enjoy tactics games.

I would like to say though for those of you buying this because you utterly loved Faster Than Light, well bad news it seems like the developer listened to what many people we're using as criticisms of FTL but I for one considered much of it's charm. That is to say the difficulty is less governered by the RNG and you don't just randomly get completely screwed some rounds like it felt like could happen in FTL. In addition the unlocking of things ses much less mysterious, at least so far the achievements and the unlocking of things all seems pretty straight forward, where as FTL it often felt hidden making me greatly enjoy the discovery when I did unlock new stuff.

Edit: Game has become playable and is enjoyable, negatives mentioned below are no longer relevant.

Save your money wait till this game is playable, currently with a Nvidia 1070 playing at 1600x900 res with the draw distance turned all the way down my frame rate was averaging around 10 (4-21 but the 21 periods were very brief)
To top it off it crashes frequenty resetting anything that hasn't been saved, and if you are the host it will disconnect all other players when you crash.

The game has potential and it might be worth $20 some day, but if this game were free to play right now I still wouldn't recommend it. So wait till it is worth buying to spend your money on, hell it will probably go on sale long before that.
