Much stronger than the previous two Dark Picture entries (6.5/10 for Medan and 5/10 for Little Hope personally), the narrative is relatively straightforward but told with an impressive clarity of vision. I found myself on the edge of my seat for long stretches of this and the decisions were more nailbiting than in previous games. As for the cast, I found them to be more nuanced and malleable by player choice than the others, there's a broad palette to set the tone of your personal story with; being anchored by some excellent performances (especially for Salim and Jason) helped ground the more fantastic elements as well.
