Just played it for 5 hours straight, I said one more game 3 hours ago. Very fun and addicting, and a good way to support a indie dev. Worth every penny :)

the achievments are kinda a slog though AAAA

Very fun game, the kids who are complaining need to get good. Even if the game was bad (it's not) it's free, so it's objectivley worth your time. Bring some friends for some added chaos.

To that one guy who wrote a review that was 10 hours long and said "the game isn't fun without friends."

Get some friends dude. It's a party game.

Clap, Clap, Clap. What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. Finished in 69 hours too. This is gonna be a bit of a long review, but...if your question is "is the game worth it?" the answer is yes. Yes it is.

My darkest dungeon ventures started back in december. The EGS was selling Darkest Dungeon for free, but I hate that launcher so much. So, I bought it on sale here, and my journey began.

It's...a hard game to say the least. Learn to accept defeat. I only party wiped TWICE in my entire 178 week run, and that's because I knew when to run away. (If your curious, the first party wipe was actually on a darkest dungeon mission. I only had a hellion left against the first boss of the dungeon, and I didn't know you can run and survive if your solo, so she died a warriors death. The other party wipe was because of some RNG ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ going down during the champion prophet fight.)
If you see that you are outmatched, just run. It's worth letting your heroes get stressed out if it means they live to see another day.

The darkest dungeon itself is a MASSIVE difficulty curve. I did not face the first DD quest until I had completed every, single, caretaker goal. Now, that was me being a novice, but the point stands. The first DD quest is nothing like a champion quest, be prepared to deal with horrors never seen before. Once you get the hang of it however, you can blow through with ease.

I remember i was upset for quite a time because I learned the final boss was The Heart Of Darkness. I kept trying to forget, and forget, but my mind couldn't let it go. Which is...weird. Learning that the boss is that has no story signifigance in the sense that you don't know what it is. But as I listened to the monolouges, a faint idea started to rise. And the final boss was completely different from what I could have ever imagined. It all made sense, but it caught me so off guard. My recommondation is to keep spoilers to a minimum: avoid DD comment sections and most videos, and the story will speak for itself quite well : )

This is the longest review I've ever wrote and probably will ever write. DD is a good game. It has it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ elements, and it has its cheese. Learn to overcome the obstacles given to you, and maybe one day, your family name can begin anew.

This was an amazing game to begin with, and it being on steam was just the push it needed to achieve greatness. Highly recommend, it's like fortnite if the shooting wasn't ♥♥♥♥.

The best fallout game, ever, period. No contest. Buy this if you like fallout. Period.

Yes I got heartache's by the number, troubles by the storm, every day you love me less each day I love you more~

1 Year Update: You know, I took the nostalgia goggles off (despite being like 7 when this game came out LOL) and...It's not as good as everyone says. Sorta. It's buggy, crashes alot, and there's plenty of softlocks.

If that's the case...why am I still recommending it? You see, this game made me realize fallout isn't as good as everyone says it was. Despite though, however, I've enjoyed fallout new vegas thoroughly. As an RPG, it's an amazing game. The Courier, despite being an avatar, HAS a backstory. (s)He's been places you haven't (with dialogue mentioning places like the Shark Club from New Reno and Utah) and seen things you can't. Despite having a past however, YOU write their future. This is one of the best designed avatar's I've really ever seen. I get excited everytime their own personality pokes through the player choice, but the Courier still feels like it's me. It's wonderful.

The combat is a straight improvement over 3. Guns actually have iron sights now, durability is MUCH more managable without a good repair skill, and weapon mods/unique weapons make combat fun. The merging of Heavy and Light weapons was an amazing idea, and all 4 primary weapon classes are super fun (Guns, Energy, Melee, Unarmed). Weapons now have a strength requirement, something you need to keep in mind when building around a certain weapon, and overall the game is so much more open in terms of playstyles.

But wanna know what I love most of all? The story. In Dead Money, there was this character named Christine. As a joke, I made a threat to her because she gave me an attituide. Later on, when I met her again, I couldn't pacify her without killing her. Why was that? Because my dialogue actually matters in this game. She remembered me being mean to her, and in turn, I couldn't be nice to her later. The best part is, there's a super creative way to make her trust you again that I won't spoil here. Talking actually matters in this game. Despite Speech being overly broken, it's the best part of this game. Do you want to just, not play the game? You quite literally have the option to persuade people out of side quests. Do you want to be stealthy, or loud? Game gives you the option, with stealth being HEAVILY rewarded and loud being balanced enough to still be fun. You can play however you want in this game, and that's what truly makes it a fallout game.

Just please, install some stability mods. This game was made in a year, and despite the developers putting their heart and souls into it, only so much can happen in a year. While I'd argue the game has too many flaws to be the best of all time, for me, It's definitely gotta be in my top 20, quite the accomplishment for a game that sometimes isn't even playable. Thanks Obsidian. Thanks for letting me experience OG fallout in a way I can actually enjoy.

Eh. Good game, great with friends, but it's microtransations are harsh. I def think that the club purchase for 5 dollars is worth it, and if you like bloons, it's amazing. You should also always zebra rush round 13 :P
