What is An Airport for Aliens Currenty Run by Dogs?

This game is, on the surface, a simple and cheesy game about a society where you and your fiancee are the only humans left in a universe of dogs. You travel from airport to airport, meeting strange and silly dogs, obtaining strange and unique items. You can find things that make you fast, things that make you jump high, things that pass time faster, and things that just hit you in the face. On the surface, a very cute but simple and shallow game.

What is the deeper meaning contained within?

The game may seem like a basic and fun game thrown together for laughs, but reading into the story contained in the interactions between you and Krista, there is so much more to unpack. The emotional connection between the player character and Krista is one of love, despite being the last two humans. A true bond, not created by needing to repopulate the world, but with true love. Krista herself says that the player character tried to win her over, and that's what made her so in love with him. The conversations you share are filled with friendly banter and jokes and every interaction ends with an exchange of "I love you, weirdo." As the story progresses, Krista gets more involved with her work and gradually more distant from you until reaching a snapping point. This reflects our real lives, how we can be so consumed in our work lives and attempting to change the world that we fail to take care of the small things in live, each other. Krista becomes so consumed with the mission she is embarking upon that she begins to distance from you, and it is shown in your interactions. The banter is toned down or non-existent and the conversations feel heavier. Finally, after she finalizes her plans to go on the mission, you really connect. A heartfelt conversation accompanied by the sunset on Dogdrasil leads to her revealing she's not ready to leave you. On Uranus, you reach her one last time where the game spins that phrase you have been ending every conversation with. Krista can't bring herself to start it, so you have to say it for her. And the last thing she says as she boards the ship heading to a new dimension is "I love you too, weirdo." And with that, the credits roll and the game is over.

Do I recommend this game?

This is an amazing game. The screenshots depict a silly and low quality game made for a bit of fun, but the story within packs a serious punch. It is not what I expected from a game that looks like this, but it was a pleasant surprise. Just buy this game, you won't regret it.
