A fairly fun word game, at around 9 hours of game time it doesn't outstay its welcome

It's a cute simple little zen game, I think tourism is overpowered as Tourism Tax basically always leads to infinite money.
I also keep getting stuck with randomly given Take it Slow and the Big Spender cards, which really mess with the game pace :(

IDK if it's good game design to require save scumming to have an OK time, highly defensive gameplay with the AI unafraid to cheese the player. If you can survive long enough to get all the equipment to fight against this you'll find the gameplay loop is a slow slog as you peak corners, bait patrols, and eliminate blocks in a tedious and long term commitment to monotony.

Poor Performance (game usually ran at ~30-45 fps, in indoor sections it ran up to 90 fps on low settings on my GTX 2060, for 110 GB you'd think they'd use their ID assets to improve performance with Megatextures/etc but that didn't seem to be the case)

Pointless exploration: The planets barely have anything on them, once you find a "Deep Cave" it'll be every
other "Deep Cave" you've ever found, hell 2-3 of the main story mines are almost wholly identical. You find out pretty quick there's nothing to reward you for looking around, just follow the quest markers that end up in your journal to find things to do.

Pointless mechanics: Why do i need to spend a skill point to use the boost pack, or 2 skill points to 'combat slide', or a skill point to hack, or pickpocket, how many skill points do they think we're getting? Every mechanic nickel and dimes you to the point where every playthrough of starfield will be wholly unique, just because you will never have the points to afford otherwise! Also I never used crafting, mostly because I didn't invest skill points into it, but also because there was never a point.
Weight Issues: Ships can only carry so much weight, so your mobile base is pretty pointless, I ended up being unable to leave Kreet (starting planet) because my ship was so loaded down with loot and I ended up finding a gun I kept throughout the entire game.

Unoriginal Story: Just play no man's sky. the similarities are striking and I don't want to get into spoilers. The story jumps you between settings so often you'll get constant whiplash, and nothing hooks you into staying past when Todd wants you to do the next scene, and you'll want to push into the main story quest to unlock your dragonborn powers unless you specifically want to ignore it. Between westworld, star trek, no man's sky, foundation, dune, the obligatory titanfall two area section, etc, all the stories in this game have been told better.

Worst UI in any bethesda game ever. Takes so long to find what I want, why is food combined with Aid when they have very different traits pushing them?

The game will be more enjoyable if you get mods that strip away all the pointless red tape in the game. Something to fix the leveling system, progression system, UI, ship building, probably outpost building (didn't bother), ship fighting, power distribution, ammo and weapon types

It's really buggy and crashes a lot, and the gameplay is clunky, flanking matters but infantry will determine how they take cover, even if it's nonsensical, mechs can walk backwords and take extra damage from behind, but you can't control how the mechs move, units will ignore commands until they finish what they're doing, so dodging grenades is nearly impossible as well as pulling units back from enemy fire (is this just how suppression works? but why are my guys shooting back but refuse to start moving). Units will not focus fire on targets you tell them to shoot and will instead shoot whatever they want instead, causing my anti armor to focus on infantry and machine gunners focusing on mechs.

The Polania campaign was kind of fun, just wished the units moved like they would in SC2/C&C instead of worse than in Dawn of War.

Nice and charming game - feels very Harry Potter and the performance issues I was having are fixed

Edit: Modding update has introduced an unfixable write error that I couldn't fix through any means I could find online, including modifying the write access, clearing cache data, and attempting a full reinstall. Game is in an unusable state for me.

♥♥♥♥ the final boss fight, it's terrible. ID fix the mechanics please. 300 stone imps and 4 archviles would be a better boss fight than this cluster♥♥♥♥ of nigh undodgable random attacks. I spent half the boss fight playing footsies with the boss waiting for an attack, only to get trash 4 times in a row, and then randomly i get the perfect 2 cycle kill. It's not fun, and whoever thought a DOOM boss should heal? They're uninvited from my birthday party.

And yes I beat the game before posting the review, and my comment stands. Needlessly difficult, needlessly mindless.
The rest is pretty good, I don't like any of the new monsters though. And something is ♥♥♥♥♥ with the movement, either that or there are now so many monsters that movement is impaired.

The level lords went ahead and did every naughty thing they could possibly do w/ the enemy combinations. It's brutal, and you spend the entire game ripping and tearing

Nothing wrong w/ the steam release, buying membership is more expensive on steam then from jagex directly, so I'd avoid that unless you wanted the additional swag
