I was an officer in the Imperial Academy, top of my class. I enlisted after I was told a Rebel assault killed my father. A Rebel spy, Jan Ors, showed me the truth - the attack was actually by Imperial troopers. So I defected; I acted as a freelance mercenary and I always did my job well. I was responsible for a few operations you may have heard about: was the principle agent for Operation: Skyhook. Shut down the Dark Trooper project. Sabotaged the Death Star II.

Years later, a Jedi came to me in a dream. Told me I had an affinity for The Force. I uncovered a hidden message from my dead father, and a gift: a lightsaber. I trained myself to use it, and developed a connection to the Force. I went on to defeat seven powerful Dark Jedi, who worked under Palpatine, in their quest to find and steal the power of the Valley of the Jedi. After that, a young woman named Mara Jade sought me out; said she was a Jedi, or wanted to be. Asked me to teach her. Said she might have a thing or two to teach me. I didn't know anything beyond what I had taught myself, but I took her under my wing and learned from her at the same time.

Lucky thing, too. After a visit to an ancient Sith Temple, I fell to the Dark Side. Mara was there to pull me from the brink. I feared the Force and what it could turn me into, so I forsook the Jedi. Gave my lightsaber to Luke, stopped using the Force. Over time, I felt my connection fade. I went back to my roots - mercenary work. This went well for a while, but eventually I found myself roped back into Jedi business. A student at Luke's Academy, Desann, fell to the dark side, defected to the Imperial Remnant, and murdered Jan. I tried to fight him, but... I couldn't. He was too powerful. I had to become a Jedi again if I wanted to defeat him. I returned to the Valley, and used its power to reignite my connection to the Force.

Unfortunately, Desann had placed a tracking device on my ship, and followed me. He used horrifying technology to artificially infuse his troops with the Force. Their power was raw, untamed, warped, but most importantly: dangerous. I found the facilities manufacturing the technology and destroyed them. I learned Jan wasn't really dead; she was only made to look as if she was killed. I fought alongside Luke and students at the Academy to protect it from an invasion by those artificial Dark Jedi.

I decided to embrace the Order. I’ve mastered both sides of the Force - light and dark - and have developed a unique philosophy. I don't think any particular Force power is inherently "good" or "evil" - I think what's important is HOW you use your powers, for what goal. Luke brought me on to teach at his Academy as a Jedi Master. I was declared to be the Academy's foremost Battlemaster - a master of lightsaber combat, contests in the Force, and both at once. I guess you could say I'm pretty good at what I do.

It's been a long, crazy road, but I'm glad I took every turn that I did. They've all collectively made me into the person I am today. With luck, I'll keep doing good. Not just for the New Republic, but the whole damn galaxy.
