The performance profile of this game, even in Patch 9, is unacceptable and severely detracts from the experience even on a higher end GPUs/CPUs.

If you're seriously looking to run this game with the least issues, try the PS5 or Xbox version in their Performance modes; they offer a near-locked 60fps with the raytracing effects removed. It might not be the best that this game can look, but at least there aren't stutters during boss battles which cause you to miss parry timings.

My CPU hates me, but my GPU loves me. Fantastic PC port! I Platinumed this game on PS4 and will enjoy doing so on PC thanks to Nixxes Software!

If you have a PS5 DualSense controller, plug it in to enjoy the game's native use of haptic and pressure adjusting triggers!

Not sure why this is still so poorly rated. It runs great, has the classic nanosuit mode for purists, Raytracing, DLSS, multi-core support, and no less game-breaking bugs than the original. Removing manual saves is controversial, but makes the game much more challenging which I personally enjoy; I'm one of those people that abused the original's manual saves to the point that the hardest difficulty became trivial.

A fantastic visual story on the development (or lack thereof) of games at Valve over the past 10 years, from Half-Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3, to hardware and software overhauls behind the scenes. Definitely worth it if you're a fan of game development or Half-Life!

Fantastic work Geoff!

One of the only games I've ever gotten to 100% completion in. Well worth the time!

Finally! Now I can actually install and play this game without either:

A) Installing it to my OS drive which shouldn't have any games on it to begin with
B) Installing it to a secondary drive that is then spammed with undeletable system folders (outside of modifying permissions or wiping the entire drive)

Thanks for making game installs/transfers easy Steam!

Essential for all VR games including the recently released Half-Life: Alyx. A very neat VR program with extensive customization (mostly for controllers) that Steam is known for. Valve is constantly updating it so if something doesn't work properly now, it'll probably work soon!
