Dont purchase, as of update 2.7 the game is officially abandonware. Full steam ahead on another early access sequel. lets hope that one gets the API and release that was promised with the last game.

Makes sense why this is so upvoted, at the end of the game it clearly asks you to review the game and then it gives an incentive for doing so. I did enjoy this however as I am baked right now and it was nice to answer some though provoking questions that I wish more people would ask me. Justice

I've heard a lot about how even though this is a great game that it is not representative of the original gameplay of half life 1. I have not played the first game on gold source so I could not attest to these claims. However what I can say for SURE is that this is an absolute 10/10 game. The art, weapons, sound, and dialogue has been re-worked from the ground up to rival even AAA developers. Even if you're not a fan of valve or half life, the game itself blows it out of the water. I definitely recommend it for the FPS enthusiast!

Amazing demo! Not really a game since the length is so lacking, that being said, its very fun and worth a look if you've got an hour or so free. I hope at some point in the devs career they re-visit this and make a full scale game out of the idea!

Twitch shooter, movement shooter heaven. Start on the second hardest difficulty and enjoy.

I looked at a lot of the other comments and a lot of what stuck out was all the people saying "great voice acting and a deep story" at this point I can say that on the point of the voice acting, its sub par. I think most people are referring to the main character when they refer to the voice acting. Other characters have clunky dialogue and exaggerated voice acting. I can confirm that yes it DOES run like ♥♥♥♥, but its not unplayable. Another common complaint that I see is that the game isnt or is very deep and filled with meaning. I gotta say, its not actually telling a very narratively unique or interesting story. Its not deep or contemplative because it tells you how you should feel. (if even in a round about way) Even when the game breaks into some more interesting philosophy it gives you only two options in complex and heavily debated topics. If its trying to emphasize the black and white nature of the narrator you succeeded but at the cost of the tone of your philosophical discussion. Not to mention that the whole discussion takes place between you and yourself in real life because the game never actually challenges you on your thoughts that hard. And how is the philosophical discussion? It's a good/evil analysis its text book high school psychology in action. Even if its his first game, on paper if falls flat. Its not an interesting story and I only kept playing because of all the positive reviews that said that it gets deep and interesting. So If you are so curious after reading the reviews that you now have to play JUST to find out what happens? I will spoil it for you to save you the time again the next sentence will be SPOILERS FOR THE WHOLE GAME do NOT read if you plan on playing this game!!! Ok so basically you're a cop with a sick kid and a bunch of budget cuts for the force. So you turn into a dirty cop just to take care of your kid but the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you work for also has a sick kid and the whole game is you getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over and then getting shot by your partner as you surrender. The only thing that the philosophy leads up to is just: What is good? What is evil? Its not even a particularly interesting take on the discussion either. This is a bad game, with a bad plot, and bad execution. Don't play, its a waste of time, even for 0$.

The game goes on a bit long for my taste, about 2/3ds through the faults in the aiming and weapon changing really shows itself, but what kept me playing is that the gameplay loop is just really fun, the challenge of fighting big daddys and the weapons you get to use just feel amazing, powerful and yet balanced. 8/10 you should play with a controller maybe? I didn't try it but perhaps the weapon switching makes more sense with a joystick?

So this is now an actual review. The game tanks medium to low end computers even on potato mode. You need great internet and even then its a massive grindfest to get anywhere. The community is toxic and every single server is hell. But the game itself is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good. The devs are involved and reactive to their community. The gunplay is simple but effective and fun and the systems are detailed and extensive. If you are ready for a challenge going solo and have really good aim, this game is for you. Theres tons of ways to play but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is it unforgiving.
