It's a 2D fighting game with a specific artstyle that has been lost update after update, becoming a souless husk of what it was. The people currently in charge of the game are not the actual developers, btw.

The witch is hot,
the bullets are many,
the spells are huge.

Quality be damned,
I had fun with Bullet Witch.

A nice looking game that would be fun to play if the controls and hitboxes were not terrible.

A somewhat decent addition to the Pang series in my opinion. Not nearly as good as the originals and with quite some nuances about it, so your mileage may vary, though.

Pros:
-The default mode, with stage select and infinite lives is very convenient for pick and play whenever you have a few minutes to spare. There is also a real arcade mode with lives.
-Physics and character movement, although limited, feel mostly right and make the game nice to play.
-There is a decent variety of ball types with different physics and dangers.
-Boss fights are nice.
-The game looks and sound generally good and cheerful, from the menus to the gameplay.

Cons:
-The smallest size of balls in the originals has been removed, taking away a whole layer of gameplay depth with it. Dodging and busting those little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ was a completely different experience from dealing with the bigger balls.
-Stairs and ladders have been removed as well in order to simplify the gameplay for mobile players, I suppose. For the most part you'll just be moving left and right.
-Area of play is smaller than the originals, or the characters are bigger, however you prefer to say it. The stages are effectively smaller and shorter. Don't expect to see any epic stages here. Stage layouts are generally uninspired, with simple movement options and a feel of either randomness or gimmicky as explained below.
-Many, many stages are very gimmicky as in they revolve around specific game mechanics and/or require very specific strats to beat. Old Pang games had a few of these stages and it was cool there (such as Australia or Barcelona in the original Pang), and many stages would blend the more methodical strategies with free-form gameplay, but Pang Adventures goes overboard with the number of “puzzles” and they're not even too interesting to play to begin with because they are so short and just require doing one or two specific things.
-There is little time to beat each level, which is a poor design choice since the danger should come from the balls themselves, not from the clock. A lot of the stages simply cannot be beat in time using the default weapon, so you have to set up explosions or use the conveniently-placed, huge-firepower, short-range, new weapons (i.e. you must do the “puzzle” of completing the stage in a very specific manner).
-Some of the game mechanics are not that good and they feel like they are only there to spice up the gameplay for the lack of ladders. Later stages feature trampolines which are more annoying than anything and a terrible substitute for ladders.
-Although the number of stages is good (around 100 stages, I think), there are only half a dozen locations, with only one background for each. I don't think it would have been too expensive to do more.
-You have to play the default mode (the one with level select and unlimited lives) to unlock arcade mode. This wouldn't be bad in itself, as it's good to do a full tour through the game before attempting it on limited lives, but the default mode has couch co-op only while arcade mode allows online co-op, so if you want to play with a friend online both of you are forced to play the full tour once.

Looking at the list, there are a lot of cons, but this is only in comparison to the originals. The game does work and feels fun to play. As someone who used to 1cc the original Pang and Super Pang on a regular basis the shortcoming can be glaring and frustrating, but all in all I've had fun playing Pang Adventures, and I can only give it a thumbs up.

Now if you haven't already, do yourself a favor and put your Mame to work for the true Pang experience.

A very fun mix of arkanoid and shoot'em up. It features a variety of weapons and powerups with very different effects and trigger conditions that really change the way you play between runs.

The bad:
-Somewhat slow movement plus an obscure and unnecessary dual-wield system. You effectively play it as any regular top down shooter, but it just feels moderately clunky
-Generally poor visuals and animations except for the main character
-Terrible, just terrible sounds
-There are a couple times where you will almost certainly need to grind previous levels to increase your stats. I mean, you'll likely run out of bullets against one of the bosses if you don't go back and increase your ammo capacity and/or damage.

The good:
-There's action and somewhat varied objectives and bosses
-Has lots of lines of dialogue of the so-bad-its-good kind (as opposed to the so-bad-its-bad)
-Main character is a red headed, tsundere musclefu

Overall score: guilty pleasure/10. Enjoyed every minute of it
