There has been a lot of controversy about this game with Squares decision to create it with always online DRM and personally I did not like the idea of it being released as episodes over several months, as a result I held off until the final product and then when it was in the sale I decided to grab it. I’ve been a fan of the previous games playing the first Hitman until Blood Money, I did not really play Absolution just the first level and did not find it as fun as the previous iterations so that is where I stand in the series.

Hitman is not a perfect game by any stretch as it has always online components which is a bit annoying and prevent saving offline; framerate drops due to poor optimisation; long load times (I advise installing it on an SSD drive to avoid most of this issue) and poor story (who really cared about the Hitman story before? Still nicely rendered cut-sense). If you loved the classic Hitman games and longed for the sandbox kill, then the latest Hitman is a fantastic addition to the game with each level offering a whole host of ways for you to complete in this fun puzzle-box game of assassination.
I completed the main story including the two extra missions in around 15hours but still have a lot of challenges to do and side objects to unlock new items. The levels offer a lot of personalisation as you move around looking for new methods to kill.

I don’t write many reviews on Steam but I felt that Hitman is the sleeper hit of this year, I feel many will pass it up due to Square messing around and lack of buzz around the title but this game really does deserve your time.

The gameplay is solid and overall it has a lot of great moments making this a really fun objective based RTS. The maps are well designed with some great areas and the push and pull across the maps really brings you into the game. I have played several games and so far not spent any money on the game, however after playing a fair amount the currency you accumulate seems so low compaired to what you should be buying.

I am fine with them selling cards with loadouts I don't see this as a problem however when you also have to spend 50,000 to unlock a characters in game it seems they are gouging you at both ends. I play casually and don't intend on putting in hunderds of hours over a week, which is what you are going to need to unlock just your first three characters for you loadout.

They do have a free rotation similar to LOL or HOTS but this does limit you a lot and I feel the company should have either made people buy characters or loadouts not both.

I feel the company tried to take money at both ends and the result is a game that requires a lot of effort to unlock any character. I would say the starter pack is almost vital if you want to play this game but for that price you could also just buy CS:GO so is it worth it?
